I just googled "sailormoonforum.com and "jetwolf" and got this. It's fine that you like her, but this really should be in it's own thread or something.

I do not see why you have to preach this tumblr user so much. I highly doubt you need to copy someone's opinion instead of having your own. The fact she is not even reviewing and official translation of the manga makes her reviews somewhat flawed. A lot of her criticism is of a translation and phrasing, which, as much as I respect Miss Dream, are most of the time translation mistakes and bad translation decisions that even a foreigner like me can notice. The manga is not perfect, it has flaws, but combine it with bad translation you are reading at it can become way worse than it actually is. And let's be honest Sailor Moon as a franchise is never good example of a wonderful writing, no matter which version we are talking about. Still, keep in mind that Artemis is not entirely a cat and even the 90s show had faint hints about him having a crush on Minako. In the end of the day Eternal will cut this and present it as mentor/student affection. I personally do not see how Artemis having unrequited crush on Minako taints the relationship between them. Setsuna is also in love with King Endymion, which never tainted the established respect she has to both him and his wife and she is just happy to see him from a far. I agree that this scene in the manga is not very appropriate, but I do not see how it can scar an adult so badly...
Ummmm why has this thread become the "JetWolf reacts" thread?
I agree who cares what this person thinks. This is all up to the writer and I’m sure lots will be omitted it all matters that what’s omitted is merited and keeeping just enough for character development.
Seriously.

JetWolf just makes blog posts analyzing lines of dialogue or repeating scenes she just saw with a ton of exaggeration, and a huge chunk of her fans treat her opinions as gospel. She has nothing to do with Sailor Moon Eternal, and these walls of text really don't need to be flooding these threads.

This is interesting someone decided to do a liveblog for the last few episodes of SuperS yesterday but instead of watching It in the original Japanese or VIZ translation they decided to watch Cloverway dub version

Why making sense is ideal. You have to understand this is how adaptions are now. They are not going to change it anytime.
I think there's an argument to be made though of shouldn't it be changed then? I feel like if staying 1:1 to a manga is more important then actually making the work make sense in whatever media it's being adapted too then that's a failure of an adaption. I'm not even really saying in terms of Crystal since at this point that's it's schtick and it's not going to change but, the whole point of an adaption isn't just remaking it in another medium but making it work in another medium.

When you cut out all the filler, 40 minutes of added screaming and such in DBZ (which Kai actually did for a good chunk) the anime is actually incredible faithful to the manga, down to adapting panels and lines wholesale, but they still add bits of dialogue and action to make it flow better, not even because of just a "we need to pad this out till the next chapter" situation but because it just, works better for an animated medium. There's a difference between being incredibly faithful to the source material, and not adding ANYTHING to it whatsoever, if it's not possible for a manga to 1:1 make sense in an anime then that should change because that's a failure of an adaption. I haven't watched much anime or read much manga I'll fully admit but even those I have seen that follow the source material as faithful as possible I've seen still will make changes and deviations if it's need to make sense

Wonder if Silent Glaive Surprise will be similar to how the 90's did it in a way? I like how the Outers attack, though the same, the energy released looks powerful. I hope when World Shaking hits the ground the power output is massive. Hope to also hear the power of the water churning as Neptune draws in the energy for her attack.
I hope part 2 will premier on time.

I heard there's talk of cancelling the Tokyo Olympics games so the movie maybe delayed.

I don’t believe it’s will be delayed. If so the movie will be directly shown on Netflix with part 1. I’m pretty sure Netflix international deals imposes a date maximum of release around Easter. The international market is much more important in this case than few entries in Japans theaters anyway.

A little over 2 weeks until the movies are released and nothing! No trailer no nothing. They went all guns blazing for the the first half and now it’s flopped they are just gonna leave the second part to flop on arrival? I understand if they don’t wanna spend anymore on marketing but uploading trailers on YouTube doesn’t cost anything.

The current SOE is apparently gonna be lifted on Feb 7 so I don’t think it’ll end up being cancelled unless cases start getting really out of hand before then. They’ve been hovering in the low 1000’s for the past week or so and I have a feeling it might end of schedule.

Of course Part 2 is gonna have lower figures than Part 1 as it’s a sequel, but at the same time it’s being released on a national holiday so everyone is off work. Maybe this will at-least draw more opening numbers. We shall see.

I'm actually expecting it to be a little higher only cause it has :hotaru::haruka::setsuna::mihiru: something the 90's really failed at with SuperS and Stars. 90's crowd is still the dominant market in Japan in my opinion.

I have read on the news that 80% of people surveyed in Japan believe that the Tokyo Olympics should be canceled. I think that speaks volumes about how people there feel about covid-19.

And I want the film to succeed, of course, but I think the movie has more chances of being a hit on Netflix.

It’s like it has been previously discussed: people in Japan still buy CDs. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is focused on streaming. And I think the movies will be a hit on Netflix.
