Exactly what the topic title says.

As we all know, the current day Senshi are the reincarnations of the Silver Millennium Senshi; but are their current era selves their only reincarnations?

Personally, I would like to think that the girls were reborn throughout the Japan modern era, without awakening their Senshi powers.

Thoughts, opinions?

The Sailor Stars musical and its revision feature Hotaru and Chibiusa going back in time and meeting everyone's Edo era reincarnations, so at least as far as those musicals are concerned they've had other lives. As for the manga, anime, Crystal, etc... It doesn't seem like they've had any other lives.

I thought it was stated in the manga that Serenity and Endymion were reincarnated multiple times, and if so I don't seen any reason why it wouldn't apply to the others.

I agree that the original anime, Crystal, and PGSM seem to indicate there haven't been any other past lives.

I don't remember the manga ever suggesting any interim reincarnations. It really seems like they went straight from Serenity & co to Usagi & co. But if you or anyone else can find any indication to the contrary, I'd love to know about it.

I think this is their first reincarnation since the Silver Millenium, or the first in which they actually met and awakened. But there is something against the idea of multiple reincarnations. Luna and Artemis never died they were in suspended animation til the princess and the senshi are reborn. So probably this is the first time they were reborn.

I think it would be an idea worth exploring in the future (once the franchise stops endlessly rebooting the Dark Kingdom's story) since "Reincarnation" is a huge theme of the series. It could have a lot of tragic potential.

Like Endymion reincarnated as a pig & Serenity a jellyfish, hence they could never have a chance to meet each other in their current reincarnations (except on a Chinese banquet dish, but that'd be tragic for them too), doubling the tragic thing. :supercry:

Fruits Basket cross-over. Serenity is the cat while Endy is the rat.

And the cat learns about their past lives just before the rat dies in her claws - how tragic! :supercry:
You guys are so cruel.
Someone, write a fanfic about this!

I was thinking more along the lines of the Senshi reincarnating as normal humans, only without their powers.

Since MementoNepenthe mentioned before that on a Sera Myu play it featured the Sailor Senshi's Edo era reincarnations and she mentioned in one audio dram that it would be cool if Mamoru and Usagi had a past life as Napoleon and Josephine I have another interesting idea. Did anyone notice on that episode in Sailor Moon S when Michiru talked about the fist kiss in history that was between Adam and Eve. If you notice Adam and Eve are drawn to look like Mamoru and Usagi. So what if one of Mamoru and Usagi's reincarnations after the fall of the Silver Millennium was as Adam and Eve. It was stated that life and evolution was restarted after the fall of the Silver Millennium so what if Usagi and Mamoru were also Eve and Adam. Obviously the story with them would be slightly different then the Biblical account but this would be especially interesting in the Dracul arc as it would tie them to Lilith of Darkness, Astarte and Dark Cain and Count Dracul/Abel. Hell this would pretty much make Cain and Able Chibiusa's older brothers. An interesting idea to think of.

The only problem in the 90s anime I can think of with regards to the Senshi having more past lives post the Silver Millennium and Golden Kingdom then their modern incarnations is the notion that during the fall of the Silver Millennium that Queen Serenity used the Silver Crystal to send them into a happy safe reincarnation in the future unless this can be explained away.

Conversely, maybe Eve could simply be an ancestor of Princess Serenity (like a great-great-great-grandmother or something). The whole point of the story of Adam and Eve, after all, is to explain the downfall of humanity and the creation of original sin. If Eve were a woman from the Moon who inadvertently brought sin to Earth, that would at least offer up an explanation as to why God would afterward forbid people from Earth interacting with people from the Moon.

You are 100% right and I'm wrong. I just checked the manga pages and realized I pulled something out of my own misreading, that's all.
