Well, I say we agree to disagree, and regardless of what it is, it's still a new attack that went basically unnoticed before. So it's just cool. ;) ((still stickin' to Coconut Cyclone. ))

Since it's the S opening, it would be most likely to introduce attacks from the third arc of the manga (it's perhaps why you don't see Moon throwing her tiara or Mercury firing bubbles). Snake fire may be evidence that this is true. Circumstance though is that Snake Fire's the only one of the four attacks that can't really be mistaken for anything else (how the heck do you draw an aqua mirage anyway?)

Coconut Cyclone is just as plant/wood based as Flower Hurricane. I can still see the new attack being drawn as a cyclone of plant matter as in the opening.

Your mileage may vary.

Jupiter used Flower Hurricane before Coconut Cyclone in the manga...it could be that they were going with the next attack that hadn't been animated, and Mercury could be using Shine Snow Illusion in the opening. If that's so, though, I wonder why they didn't use Rolling Heart Vibration (although the anime version of Love and Beauty Shock looked a lot like Rolling Heart Vibration, so).

Exactly.....
and don't forget that the new manga version of sparkling wide pressure involve flowers too, so they can have chosen to add flowers to coconut cyclone as well (maybe they have added flowers because flower hurricane is a skipped attack....just as rolling vibration/beauty shock thing)....
it seem that Jupiter is charging her arm with electricity before releasing the blast ( the attack seem like a giant coconut of green energy in one of the first frames) flower hurricane is only a thunderless, flowers whirlwind.
they have fused some attacks.....
-flower hurricane+coconut cyclone manga= anime coconut cyclon
-coconut cyclon (manga)+oak evolution (manga)= anime oak evolution (she create green spheres using leaves, you can see a similiar shape projectiles in the manga counterpart of coconut cyclon.

Um...how do you know that? The manga isn't colored and doesn't show the entire attack. It's kind of open to the imagination exactly what the attack looks like.

I've been looking at the panels where she uses Coconut Cyclone in the manga and I honestly don't see any projectiles at all, despite the fact that various websites say it uses oak leaves. Am I blind? (Okay, I am, but that's not the question. :P )

The first time she use the flower hurricane Nefrite was wrapped in a flower whirlwind and blinded by it, then Jupiter attack the guy using supreme thunder, it sound like shabon spray/moon tiara action to me, so I think (at least, in the manga) it is a defensive attack only, we know that the attack is used in PGSM too as an offensive one, yes....but it's very weak, in a cd drama it works against a special youma but I don't know why.
Talking about coconut cyclone, I've coloured some projectiles....but maybe this is just my imagination, it seems that electricity is released all around her body too.....I've checked another picture of that attack (the special manga episode featuring Makochan) and it seems that she use a cyclon of (green?) wind and the youma explode.

Hmm. I just looked at that page in the manga - I see a bunch of speed lines and dots surrounding Nephrite. Again, I'd say it's open to interpretation, unless it looks really different in the reprint.

I still don't see any projectiles - I just see green stuff that could be just plain energy bolts.

In the Exam Battle episode, though, I do see swirly wind coming from her hand.

Yeah, but no thunder or electricity seems to be added. Maybe this is a "wood type" only attack (same as PGSM)

I'm not arguing about the anime opening anymore, I'm still trying to figure out where you see "projectiles" in manga Jupiter's attacks.

Well, even if the flowers aren't drawn, they're kind of implied by the name of the attack, aren't they?

I know, right? Even Chibiusa got new stuff, and she didn't fare much better...all she got was a horse to come help her. Some "training" she got.

They didn't even have to get new transformations. Just a new attack here and there. Really...what makes the writers think that the Senshi can handle stronger baddies when even Sailormoon needs a powerup? How did they even stand up against the Circus?? Geez, even when they GET new powers, they're near USELESS anyway...*cough LovenBeauty Shock vs Iron Mouse cough*
Yeah, one thing I hate about the anime is how much the overemphasized Usagi's superiority to everyone else and how everyone besides her was useless. The spotlight is shared more in the manga.

Sure, they might be implied by the name of the attack. However, Yaten said that The first time she use the flower hurricane Nefrite was wrapped in a flower whirlwind and blinded by it, and I don't see how anyone can get "wrapped in a flower whirlwind and blinded" from that picture in the manga, unless there's some text in there in which Nephrite says, "Ack, I'm being surrounded by a flower whirlwind and blinded!"

My point being, the manga attacks are open to interpretation, and it's somewhat silly to say "this is exactly what happens" if that's not on the page.

Translation of what Nephrite says:

"Estoi ciego!"/"I'm blinded!" (because he is whrapped in a flowers (flowers, not only petals) whirlwind, you can see the flowers and the wind sorrounding Nephrite)

Maybe I'm wrong with the projectiles thing
No, I know what you mean from Flower Hurricane...Nephrite says "What is this? This attack...it's blinding!" or something similar. Probably buying Jupiter time so she could power up.

I don't think that the opening is Flower Hurricane because I'd imagine there'd be a lot more flowers in it. And the fact that it's green. I don't associate flowers with green. And the fact that Mars has Snake Fire, so it would be logical that the rest of the group had the powers from Mugen as well.

Roses--glad to know someone agrees with my theories on the anime powers. As in, ICK.

Yaten--how'd you get screenshots???

The projectiles are fun to be open to interpretation. I don't know who mentioned it here ( i think it was here, ), but someone said Jupiter radiated electricity from her body for her Cyclone attack, in the manga.

And I don't think World Shaking and Deep Submerge are energy planets. Nor Dead Scream, for that matter. Hmmm...fun to think about, eh? ;)

I'm weird...I'm not even making sense right now. Whee.

Hrm. I was going from Alex Glover's translation, in which he says Nephrite says "sorcery!", now that I look at it, it doesn't seem to match.

I still don't see him "wrapped" in flowers, just flowers flying past - but that's getting really nitpicky.
