For the 20th anniversary "Exhibition of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" in Roppongi Hills back in 2016, the first chapter of the manga was fully colorized. Since this full color version has yet to be officially released, I thought it would be useful to collect all available photographs of the colorized pages in one place to archive and discuss them. These are the photos I could find. If anyone has better quality photos or photos of other pages, PLEASE share them.

There's no way an anime can be colorized with this complex style.

Instead of Crystal, they could have saved themselves money and bad press by just colorizing the manga and releasing it as a motion comic with music and sound effects and the original anime cast (as much as possible) reading the dialog.
And people will ask for a new anime, and we will have something alike Crystal.

I really don't understand what the hold up is. I know colorizing manga isn't the most common thing in the world, and it doesn't seem like Kodansha has ever colorized any of their titles, but 1) Sailor Moon isn't your average manga series, 2) fans have been asking for a colorized release for y e a r s, 3) it would easily outsell the eternal editions (which have already been enormously successful) and make them the most $$$ they've ever made from the manga. Sure it'll take some *actual* work, but if they were willing to do the first chapter for an art show, why not another 59 (not including the side stories) for a few million dollars??????

To colour the manga would be insanely amount of work - a lot of stuff should be redrawn and fixed in the process, it would cost a lot to print. It would be definitive edition for sure, but I doubt it will ever happen. Naoko just don't want to work as an artist anymore. She didn't do like 20 illustrations for a new artbook, and this would be thousand of pages work. And if somebody else is doing it it will show in my opion. But they could have released the first chapter as it is already available in color and it is not uncommon for first capters.
