I thought this episode was better than last week's, though I cannot believe they showed the stock footage for Rainbow Moon Heartache TWICE

I was expecting them to show Rainbow Moon Heartache twice because, honestly, it's Toei, and Rainbow Moon Heart Ache was used twice in that chapter. Still a bit disappointing, but eh, it's not the first Toei show to do this to save on budget.

However, this episode was amaaaaaaazing. The quality shot up from last episode, the pacing felt much more even, and this is one of my favorite chapters in the arc and I loved seeing certain scenes animated such as:

a) Prof. Tomoe's flashbacks

b) Hotaru protecting Chibiusa's soul and ginzuishou

c) The entire conversation in the elevator.

d) Also they really animated some of the scenes in the manga incredibly beautifully.

I also love the small callback to '90s Tomoe.

Another fantastic episode no more no less

The animation was a lot more consistent and good looking than the last episode which is very good.

Hotaru and Chibusa scenes were pretty heartwarming, i love the insanity Mistress 9 is starting to show

Loved Tomoes flashbacks, finally some more background for him. They even added some extra story points that werent in the manga like Pharaoh introducing himslef and corrupting Kaolinite. It was pretyy creepy seeing her being hit by daimon egg on the forehead

The elevator moments were good allthough im kinda sad they didnt elaborate more about Outers past lives, like what were the duties of Uranus and Neptune. Oh well.

Finally the battle with Tomoe was incredibly well done. His insanity was well portrayed with face expressions. Im also glad Usagi was more hesitant than she was in the manga.

The final scene with new music and the building being destroyed along with Inners were super hyped, tense and exciting.

Cant wait for more. Very good episode 10/10

Should we count Garnet Ball as an attack?

I swear, right before transformation, Tomoe looks like he escaped from Hellsing :) Changes from manga made Kaolinite and Tomoe more evil, in manga, it seemed like they both died (at least Kaolinite) and aliens took control of their body, here, they all do it on free will, Germatoid name is not mentioned after Tomoe transformed.

Yeah, I really liked that they expanded upon the Death Busters' back story, and I think that entire sequence was well directed. There was a bit of an Ikuhara influence, I think.

One moment they added which I really liked was Sailor Moon hesitating to kill Prof. Tomoe because he was Hotaru's father WITHOUT redeeming him.

So, it looks like Sailor Saturn isn't going to emerge immediately next episode. Instead, it looks like Hotaru is going to burst from Mistress 9's body... Prayer circle for a Saturn transformation, anyone?

Spoilers for a 20 year old manga:
Spoiler: show
Saturn does not appear until Act 37, which is the episode after the next one. We do get to see Double Super Moon transformation and attacks next episode though. Really excited to see how they're going to handle it. Hopefully they'll create new footage for it. ^_^

Sailor Saturn won't appear next episode but we will have Super Sailor Chibi Moon (and maybe Tuxedo Mask transformation)

The only thing that struck me as a bit weird this episode, and please tell me it wasn't just me:

Was there something weirdly sexual going on between Master Pharaoh 90 and Kaolinite in that flashback? Like dayum. This is a ship I never thought would set sail, especially when most people assume she has a thing with Tomoe.

Okay episode with some basic characterization for Haruka and co. Nothing intense, but something at least.

I don't see why they needed to include the whole Rainbow Moon Heart Ache stock footage in the first use - they easily could've truncated it to the scene with Super Sailor Moon holding the Heart Moon Rod admist the white light while saying the name. Kind of made the second and more important use seem anti-climatic.

They really love reusing that close-up shot of Tomoe's face in the lab and the part where the tubed daimon is all aggressive.

Germatoid (despite not being identified as such) looked decent, better than most of the previous ones. I just don't like the aesthetics of most of the daimon in Crystal. Looks cheaply rendered.

I like how Venus was in charge at the beginning.

I swear, right before transformatrion, Tomoe looks like he escaped from Hellsing :) Changes from manga made Kaolinite and Tomoe more evil, in manga, it seemed like they both died (at least Kaolinite) and aliens took control of their body, here, they all do it on free will
Doesn't seem like Kaori had much of a choice after being infected with the daimon pod. Maybe she was far under 90's thrall to say otherwise?

So Kaol/rinite was just her Death Busters codename after becoming evil? She was simply Kaori before (i.e., her birth name)? Or did Souichi just call her Kaori for short?

In manga, she kept compete for Master Pharaoh 90 attention with Tomoe and Mistress 9, it was in 90's anime she had thing with Tomoe :)

The scene seemed seductive (in terms of power and life) more than sexual to me.

Indeed for a moment she clearly wanted that....gas? :P
