I love Usagi for her braveness and kindness to everyone, always believe in them and befriend with everyone. There is no way the Inner Four could become such good friends without her. Sure, she just dreamed to be a housewife but it's totally fine.

I think she is among 2-5 around my favorites with Michiru on top, close with Makoto, Ami, Rei and Hotaru.

She's probably #5 out the 5...maybe #4 slightly above Ami. She gets so much screentime over the others that I find her to be the least interesting and they go out of their way to try to make her into the purest of pure, it annoys me.

Classic-R Usagi was awesome, just that they went too far on her being so "good" in later seasons, especially the end of Stars.

I love her her in the manga and I tolerate her in the 90s show, but I would always rather have Minako being the main character as it was supposed to be.

She's solidly in the middle of the pack. She has her admirable qualities, and at least starts out as a unique lead (at least for the time), but in her early episodes she is far too whiny and baby-ish and in later episodes she is far too forgiving.

That she gets away without making any of the hard choices is grating (even if I agree with her idealism).

I feel exactly the opposite, she was a very interesting character and efficient fighter in her solo epsiodes but had to step down to make others shine.

The later ones yes, those were horrible.

She might be my favorite. She's a selfish crybaby but somehow still has a mature, kind soul. One of my favorite moments is in Sailor Moon Super S. Fisheye made it known he was Usagi's rival and was after Mamo. Despite Usagi's anger, she still went to go comfort fisheye when he was alone, crying in the rain. To me she captures femininity perfectly.

Dunno what I would rank her. My other favorites are Haruka, Michiru, Setsuna, Minako, Seiya, Yaten and Chibi-Usa

My favorite moment was in Classic, which she told that musician that regardless of how old he was, he still got his right to find love.

Also in the last battle which she rose up to fight Mamoru and didn't kiss him because the Inner Four didn't have chance to kiss their loved ones.

She gets so much screentime over the others.
That does make quite a bit sense. She's the titular protagonist, after all. I understand, it's so frustrating the protagonist has a majority of the screen time devoted to them especially in a series which centers on a team of magically endowed heroines. The Sailor Team all contribute to fighting against the forces of evil.

Yes, she was whiny in the early episodes. I don't think you're going to expect any sheltered 14-year old to be immediately skilled at fighting right away. Usagi just so happened to thrust onto a situation in which she had every right to be afraid, monsters are scary. Morga is scary. Luna is only trying to guide Usagi into this duty to the best of her ability.

The show is built around Usagi so it's hard not to find her endearing. She's also the comedic element of the show. An imperfect hero.

And her love of food is too relatable.
Basically, yes. Usagi is the star of the show. She has the most focus, therefore we can see the many sides and facets to our heroine. Her flaws are what make her human and three-dimensional.

That does make quite a bit sense. She's the titular protagonist, after all. I understand your frustration over the series dedicating a massive portion of screen time to Usagi. I do feel we should able to devote more time to the other Sailor Soldiers, especially their families. We see only Usagi's parents plus Shingo in both the 90's anime and Crystal, yet there's no mention Ami/Minako/Rei/Makoto's parents, not even a flashback of them with their relatives.

Usagi's whiny attitude in her solo episodes can be somewhat irritating, I hear you. She's not quite used to the idea of saving the day. She does need Luna to mentor her and whip her into shape. There are some villains I believe Usagi just should not forgive ever, there has to be a balance between killing and redeeming the enemy.

I think the 90s show did fine on the other senshi maybe Michiru still needs some more independent plot. The thing is that they should have get more screen time in SuperS and Stars instead of making space for more new characters. Even Usagi was stepping down for Chibiusa in SuperS.

Parents really don't matter too much since this is a hero's saga and they are not too important unless they are involved in the conflict. We do know a bit of their background and it's enough. Even Usagi's family has played a much less role as the show goes on.

Usagi's okay, not my favorite (I prefer Minako, Rei & all the Outers compared to her) but she gets the job done well enough as the MC in every version. Still would've preferred Minako being the main like Naoko originally intended, but what can you do.

(Which is ironic I’m so lukewarm towards her considering I would say she’s the Senshi I’m most like, at least her 90’s anime version)

Lemme tell you though, the first 2 seasons of Crystal she was really beginning to grate on my nerves with how much the show seemed to be worshipping her & even outright stealing significant moments from the other Inners just to give her. (*cough* Venus's kill of Beryl going to her *cough*)
