Manga Demande was a ruthless hotheaded young man, who wanted to continue war in humanity and rebuild earth in his way. He caused the future to be nearly destroyed by the black crystal. But at the same time, Demande did care about his followers, he also tried to fight against Wiseman and almost succeeded with combining the two Crystals, it also messed up Wiseman's plan.

He was so much into Neo Queen Serenity because her beauty shocked him and her cold stare made him hurt, he tried so hard to deny that such good image is what he liked and deep down he knew that Serenity was right on his wrong doing. In later stage he even recognized Usagi was really noble deep down.

He is evil but is also one of the few villains that got character development in the manga. Just that his ending was too rushed, I do like Crystal's change.

Anime Demande was much more mature and rational, his goal was to let his ppl live on earth again. But it was twisted by Wiseman, so war has started. He showed that he cared about his ppl deeply, was in sorrow when Saphir got killed. Later under Usagi's words, he finally got convinced and died to protect her.

Overall the anime Demande was a much nicer person. But the anime didn't give a clear explanation on his obsession over Usagi.

Which one do you prefer? I think I like anime Demande as a person much more, but both were very interesting characters.

I like 90s anime Prince Demande better because he acts more human and he shows more kindness towards the rest of the Black Moon Clan members too. I really like that towards the end of the R season, Demande protected Usagi from Wiseman and that Usagi knows that Demande actually loves her for who she is as a person and not just for her looks.

There should have been the "Crystal" option.:mrgreen::mrgreen:
Crystal is pretty much the same other than the ending.

I really like the ending they made while more inner conflict could have been given to him to explain why did he turn back from trying to kill everyone.

Demande didn't want to admit his love and nod to Usagi until the last moment, which fit his manga personality right on spot.

Also he still asked Usagi to take care of his ppl in his last moment.

I found Manga Demand to be plain creep, he wanted to rape Usagi/Serenity, and was so obsessed with her he was willing to screw over his people (Sapphire pointed it out), and even after he find out truth about Wiseman, all he thought about was "Im gonna kill her first, before Wiseman do it"
To be fair, manga did show he was touched by Usagi and thought she was noble, which is why I think the ending was too rushed and glad that Crystal changed it..

Yeah that's true and that part alone proves that 90s anime Prince Demande is a very caring person deep down in his heart. What I also love too is that he's not a shallow person either and he would only want what's best for his people.
Yeah, Anime Demande seems to understand love while he said he did not. He has a deep bond his brother and showed sympathy to Esmeraude even though he didn't love her. He also took his ppl as his most important task.

I think his problem is that his affection for certain ppl could let him become ruthless on others and ignored that they are also human being, especially under Wiseman's misdirection. Usagi and her company didn't, they chose to help the sisters when they showed their human heart. Demande also realized such mistake in the end.

That is absolutely true and I agree that 90s anime Prince Demande understands love a whole lot more than his manga/crystal counterpart.

90s version of him of course, he was shown to care for Saphir and protected Usagi from wiseman in his last dying moments
he may have been stalkerish leading up to that but as R continued we got to see a side of him that redeems him in my eyes

to me 90s Diamond/Demand isn't evil just misguided cause of Wiseman's influence

Manga/Crystal Diamond was more cold more wanted to take Usagi/NQS by force [without understanding love at all that the 90s version was shown to by his end instead he was more of a *cringe* rapey creeper] used black moon as pawns while himself being a pawn of Wiseman those versions of him I would call evil

Pretty much this .I think Dic dub sums it up nicely.XD."Only an evil coward would use hypnosis to hypnotized girls"
But he did realize his mistake and atone for it.

I think the anime simply added that plot to make him evil enough, otherwise he would not look like a villain. Unlike that was a big part of his character in the manga.

It’s been a while but I’m pretty sure Demande only felt bad for trying to conquer Tokyo/earth don’t recall him ever feeling bad or apologizing for trying to sexually assault Usagi
