Do you think the character designs are even done?

I've been wondering about this. I don't know about Akira Takahashi, but I remember that Ykie Sako was chosen via audition. I believe they did one for the movies, otherwise it wouldn't take im this long to announce the new designer. This also mean she has already submitted designs. Maybe not finalized, but at least a concept. If they simply decided to hire her based on her past work it makes no sence to wait 2 years to order them at least. If the designes or even just concepts are ready, how long do u think will take them revealing them and key visual. I remember Season 1 key visual was unvailed at least 4 months before the premier, although the designs themselves were released much later. The same happened for Season 3. Considering movies usually have longger promotion campaigne than tv series, can we at least hope for a key visual this decade? :D Sorry, I meant year. If they have concept art they could at least reveak that and make people at least a bit excited for what is comming. If they are going to wait till next Usagi birthday of that nobody would remember about the movie at all. A scenario similar to Rose of Versailles Movie, where they simply let people forget instead of officially admit it was scrapped, worries me a lot.

I don't think anyone knows how far along in production they are and I think speculation when we don't know anything just ends up leading to fandom fatigue. All we can do is just keep waiting. But if they had a key visual ready at this point, I think they would have released it at Anime Expo, which is the largest anime convention in the US, and where a lot of important announcements and world premieres take place.

Probably, although TOEI has never released anything on foreign conventions. I know we have to wait and speculation is bad, but sometimes it is difficult not to.

I guess they must have something new otherwise i dont think they'd accept and announce her. Im surprised they managed to get her in the first place. I'd imagine the negotiations must have been pretty tight. Maybe thats also one of the reasons for the delay, they want to get the right people on board

I dont think we'll see anything untill close to the premiere though

Well, it is a movie, they start with promotion or movies much earlier than tv shows. looking at pop in q they revealed trailer 8 to 6 months before premier, and chara designs much earlier.

I agree - concept or key visual as well as full cast and crew are enough at this point and they are even getting overdue.

Do you guys really think the movie will focus on him?
Watching Classic Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R, I think the men in season 4 will have... sensual attraction, which they didn't have much in the first three seasons.

Well, Crystal Dream arc has more focus on him and the origin of his power, so technically they cannot skip some Mamoru development. and focus. We had some confirmation that they are following the manga. BTW, are we twins or something. :D

Oh i hope so. One of the best things about 90s anime Mamoru is his design. Crystal (both seasons) and even the manga Mamoru's...arent all that.

I think he will appear a lot, specially in second movie allthough i wouldnt say Dream arc in the manga is the Mamoru-heaviest arc.
I think that honor goes to Black Moon where Mamoru gets a lot of screentime and action because Inners are kidnapped and both Usagi and Chibiusa focus on him A LOT. Plus King Endymion also has really lots of presence. Then i'd say its Dark Kingdom arc, then Dream (he does appear a lot but his time is restricted by a large cast including inners, outers, chibiusa and helios), then Infinity and finally Stars

At least we are hopefully seeing more Chibi Mamoru. l liked Yukie design of him. All men (and Haruka) designd by Takahashi were back head craved. I bet you know what I'm talking about.

Yeah they had parts of their head removed. Strangely enough Motoki didnt seem to have that problem.
But in general i thought men were hotter in the 90s anime than the manga and now Crystal

Never cared about men in Sailor Moon much, but they were manlier in the 90s, too bishounen in Crystal.
