Takeuchi has her own ideas for Super S, Neherenia Arc, and Stars which she planned for the Anime but never in the manga like the wristbands/wristribons for the Eternal Senshi and Galaxia being Sailor Chaos.

Technically, the Eternal Movies are partially a remake of Super S and Neherenia Arc but changed to follow the Manga plot and we also see Naoko's rejected Eternal Upgrade designs for the 90s anime, I see Stars being at least slightly different due to her having plans for the Anime(which she never planned for the manga) being rejected in the 90s.

It is so sad, Naoko fired Ikuhara only for her outline for Sailor Stars to be rejected by his replacement, perhaps we could have him direct the Stars remake.

I am speculating here, but I believe Naoko Takeuchi provided TOEI with a guideline for SuperS and Stars, respectively. I personally do not believe that Naoko’s ideas, those from the manga, were rejected because the anime ended before the manga was concluded. In other words, Naoko was still crafting the last chapters of the manga after the anime ended.

Another important aspect for fans who believe Crystal’s first season deviated from the manga: it was only after the “Sailor Moon” manga was concluded that Naoko had time to finish the “Sailor V” manga—and while doing so she had time to briefly revisit the Dark Kingdom arc by suggesting a romantic affair between Sailor Venus and Kunzite, an idea that had been subtly implied in the first arc of “Sailor Moon” (the colored illustration), but not fully developed.

The last chapter of “Sailor V” heavily implies a relationship between Minako and Kunzite—and the last panels of the “Sailor V” manga should be considered when criticizing the senshi x shitennou pairings.

Other than the pairings, the only thing that Crystal did differently was Beryl’s death. As much as I would like having the same scene from the manga, I suspect they changed because there is actually blood, it is a grisly scene that doesn’t match Crystal’s shoujo aesthetic, and we already get to see Usagi stab herself (and Mamoru) with the same sword in Crystal. I think we won’t see Usagi coughing blood in Eternal for the same reason.

Ikuhara was never fired by Takeuchi, he left as Kazuyo Tadano did because they didn’t like working with TOEI.

Tadano’s case was because of crunch, she even said she wouldn’t like working with toei again (that was why fandom was surprised when she returned. Probably it was Takeuchi who helped mend TOEI and Tadano’s relationship and also why she is not chief animator (because it would be reliving the torture she went through in the R movie).

Now in Ikuhara case it was because, he wasn’t allowed more freedom. Utena’s basically the plot lines he couldn’t use in Sailor Moon in some form or another (of course it’s own thing but in a lot of interviews he shares thoughts and ideas that he wanted in SM that ended appearing in Utena.)

Yeah.

But Naoko had ideas for the Anime that were never part of the Manga which TOEI rejected.

To be exact, He left because of TOEI, Naoko joined TOEI in rejecting the Super S movie of Ikuhara and created her own idea for the Super S movie(the Badianne movie) only for her ending up being betrayed by TOEI in Sailor Stars, because TOEI hired a director that did not follow what Takeuchi wanted.

There are also parallels in the last scene of Usagi and Galaxia in both the 90s Anime and Manga and the last scene of Utena and Anthy which I find funny.

This is new for me, what ideas did she have?
-Senshi/Shitenou pairings(we already seen that)
for Sailor Stars
-Wristbands/wristribons for the Eternal Senshi - the Eternal Movies added this
-Galaxia as Sailor Chaos if her bracelets are removed - according to the materials collection.

The Manga seems quite rushed perhaps adding Naoko's plans for the 90s anime that she did not originally plan for the Manga plus some details about what happened to the people who perished in the Stars might fix it.

Maybe she should enlist her husband to help. He knows how to craft a good narrative and action (Even if HunterxHunter remains unfinished) Although I understand that she probably sees it has her labor of love ( rightfully so)

I would not be surprised if either Ikuhara or Sato returns in the Stars as Tadano did.

Both the Stars anime and the manga were rushed productions and Naoko and TOEI certainly were not working as closely as they should because Naoko herself admitted to feel surprised by the change of gender of the Starlights—an idea that came from TOEI.

No, it is her husband who needs help. Naoko helped him with his work, allegedly. He is ill—or allegedly pretends to be ill, according to his readers—and my impression is that he just wants to work and develop his own ideas organically, without being rushed or demanded to draw or craft narratives when he does not want or wish to do so. Being a mangaka is a very exhausting job and I think both Naoko and her husband know that.

In my opinion what Happened to Sailor Stars seems to be a consequence of what TOEI did to Ikuhara by not approving the Super S movie he wanted to make and not having him in Sailor Stars, and Naoko supporting TOEI's decision.

Although had things went well regarding Sailor Stars(and in extension PQ Angels) as Takeuchi wanted we would not have Cutey Honey F, RGU, Pretty Cure, and Kill la Kill(due to it being inspired by Cutey Honey F and Utena) since the circumstances that made 90s Stars plot is what made them exist in the first place.
