Toei made the fact that she didn't have a tiara even more painful when she was forced to throw a pizza in one episode of Stars. I get that it was supposed to humorous but "moon tiara action" is an attack that I think a lot of fans have a strong amount of nostalgia for and on the rare occasion when she used it later in the series is was very exciting!
I found that episode to be quite humorous as well, Made me miss seeing it in Season 1 though! Haha... that episode I guess was mean't to bring back a little history back.

Am I the only one who actually likes the anime Eternal Sailor Moon fuku?

I think the outfit deserves credit for being original.
I think it was time to sort of shake things up and give Sailor Moon a radically different costume.
It's the most different when compared to Sailor Moon's other power-ups & I like that it doesn't look the same as the others.
It's kind of cool to see Sailor Moon in a completely different outfit.

As for the Bowling Ball sleeves, I often think of them as an ode to Princess Serenity.
Often old-fashioned royal dresses and gowns, have giant sleeves, in that same sort of shape.
I feel like that might be some sort of a way of showing she's royalty.
See this pic for example:

Eternal Sailor Moon's fuku, it's a completely ridiculous costume, which Super Hero/Super Heroine costumes often are.

It's not just- "Oh look theres a chick in a school uniform with a super short skirt...yikes, please don't hurt me!" anymore.
Now It's like - "Oh my god, there's something you don't see everyday! A girl in a completely strange getup....And she has wings???? This chick might be tough."
I'd be more intimidated running into Eternal Sailor Moon... that's just me I guess.
I mean obviously I wouldn't be scared running in to Sailor Moon in the first place.

And really I don't think the costume looks that bad, Sailor Moon looks pretty in it. Some animators were better at drawing it I think.
In some episodes of Stars it looks kind of bad, in episodes where the animation isn't as good.
It all depends on how you look at it!
I for one will stand up for Eternal Sailor Moon :)

Just look at the following pictures of Eternal Sailor Moon, I think she looks cool!
Very interesting and historical theory! Nice job!! :)

Somewhere over the rainbow...

I think I may be in the minority in that the eternal uniforms are my favorites out of the series. Sailor Moon looks like a rainbow of color, which is really pleasing to my eyes (luuuuv rainbows  ). I think the wings make it so unearthly and beautiful (even in the anime) and I like the idea of the eternal outfits being uniform (feels more like actual soldiers).

I get what you mean. I never really liked all the frills of the Eternal form. I would've thought that the "true form" of SM would've been more toned down and simple, representing the pure power she had in her use.
That would be PGSM's Princess Psychotic Sailormoon. :usagi:

I didn't have a problem with it neither. Not sure as to why it's an issue with everybody, the anime one doesn't look that done-up IMO. The wings are just a symbol which is the one thing that would stand out more than usual, however she still fights with the outfit on.

Depending on your interpretation, could also be Sailor Cosmos, tho, even tho she isn't called "Sailor Moon." :)

If they shrank down the sleeves and made the wings look less bulky (somehow), I'd say it would be one of her best forms.

The eternal outfits on the other soldiers (aside from Chibimoon) look awful on them. Like I've said before, they took away every last bit of originality from their uniforms.

Her lesser known magical girl rival rip off does it much better.

Simple, elegant and not over accessorized complete with retractable wings.

But the best final fuku upgrade in my opinion would be Rayearth. I don't like their original costume cause it looks like their going inside a laser tag arena.

Actually the costume designs in similar shows after Sailor Moon generally look better & more sophisticated, even tho the overall quality of those shows isn't necessarily better. :)

It makes me wonder if this one is a source of inspiration for her wings.

Those huge wings protruding from her head look more like being inspired by Nagai's creations in Devilman. :)
