Been thinking about this some more...

Since the Special Act was set in 2008, Chibiusa would have been born in 2009, meaning she'd turn 14 in 2023...just in time for the series' 20th anniversary.

Concept: After returning home from a school trip, Usagi "Chibiusa" Tsukino-Chiba finds that her parents and their friends have all disappeared! Not only that, but her "Aunt" Luna is really a plush toy cat! Luna, along with another plush toy cat named Artemis, inform Chibiusa that she is really a Sailor Guardian, and she must transform and find her team of allies in order to save her parents and their friends, as well as the entire world, from a new enemy threatening to take over the planet. Meanwhile, three other Sailor Guardians have appeared: are they friends or foes? And what secrets are Chibiusa's new friend, a mysterious girl named Hotaru, hiding?

(If need be, Luna and Artemis could easily be replaced with Luna-P.)

This concept would, obviously, be a mix of the second, third, and fourth arcs, and would feature either an entirely new set of villains, or some sort of Black Moon/Death Busters/Dead Moon Circus hodgepodge.

In any case, it would give us a look at a teenaged Chibiusa fighting as Sailor Moon, give us civilian identities and brand new looks for the Sailor Quartet, and present a chance to reinvent the Outers. The original cast wouldn't need to appear until the last one or two episodes, which should be feasible with their schedules. Supporting characters like Naru, Motoki, and the Four Generals could either appear based on the original actors' availability, or be recast altogether if need be (same for Artemis and Luna).

I think that could be a great way to celebrate the series' 20th anniversary. It could be a limited series (13 or so episodes), or even just be a movie.

But Toei seems to hate PGSM, and Crysternal certainly won't be done by 2023, so....

We can dream.

I...would just...rather not think about the reproductive cycle of stuffed animals :dead:

(But I guess if Diana were just an independent plush toy and not Luna and Artemis's child, then that could work.)

As long as they scrap the whole psychotic princess :usagi:. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Mio again.

I'd love to see Death Phantom explored more here.

Why not? lol They just (conveniently) look like stuffed toys in their physical appearance, but aren't real plushies (all cats on the planet Mau look like that in the PGSM universe, I suppose).

As long as they scrap the whole psychotic princess :usagi:.
I think they'd scrap PSM, only to replace her w/ another psychotic princess - the Small Lady one :twistedevil: (whose appearance would partially look like PSM & partially like Black Lady, I suppose).

Now I'm curious if they'll add that iconic kissing incest scene. XD

I'd rather see a high budget OVA series of few episodes that mixes PGSM with the manga and 90s anime and adds something fresh. Something like the Rayearth OVA.
:loltext: That's what Crystal should've have been from the start if it weren't for them TOEI executives meddling in the writers/directors creative vision. XD

that's what I wanted Crystal to be from the get go lol
After the Eternal movies for the Stars arc we're just probably going to get another reboot of Crystal for the 40th or 50th anniversary with the inclusion of the side stories. XD

If they’ll ever make another anime that tells the story of the manga it will be either high budget or something completely different, all comedy and chibi style or all in 3D
