Sorry, I just do. I feel like an Arian at the Council of Nicea, (these are the sorts of allusions you make when you graduate from a Christian academy...), but I just don't like the 90's version all that much. I find some episodes-or every scene that Rei speaks-unbearable. Rei is just...Christ, she's grating. Though, I think the manga is even better than Crystal. I like the characters better. Rei feels mysterious and cool, Mako's got the contrast of tough and girly, Mina's both passionate and an airhead and Ami is, well Ami is the best in every version anyway.

In all seriousness and as much as i'm with you, the opening posts is a little abrasive in tone and i could see this thread careening into an argument fast. I understand if this was a spur of the moment posts but nothing good ever comes from threads like these. It ends up just being fans taking offense over opinions and fighting.

I see your point, being a veteran of the Great Brony Civil War of 2019. (You could ask, but do you REALLY want to know?) Though I'll be honest I think the major reason I like Crystal is cause it's more romance focused and I love romance. I guess it depends on the kind of story you want to see.

There was a My Little Pony fandom civil war? :wtf:

Did it cross over the furry fandom?

That sounds just as strange no matter how many times you say it. My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is a cartoon television show about friendship, compassion, and a group of magical horses with names such as Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy who live in a fantastical land called Equestria. It’s marketed to children. Nevertheless, it has an extremely dedicated adult fandom, which is mostly made up of men, or “bronies,” as they’ve been referred to for nearly a decade. Most of these men are white. Some of these men are vocal white supremacists.

Even a quick glance at the history of My Little Pony fandom serves as a valuable template for how not to build an online community. The fandom was born on 4chan, the largest den of chaos and toxic beliefs available on the internet. In 2012, a message board called /mlp/ was set up because My Little Pony conversation was taking up too much space on boards for TV and comics. It took off because there is nothing 4chan likes better than things spiraling out of control.
Sees 4chan. Typical. :rolleye:

Several. From arguing about whether Twilight should've been a princess to whether a small child should have been executed.

Chibi-usa's lucky she didn't grow up in Equestria.

We actually had clan wars in this fandom. Between late 2000s and early to mid 2010s. :evillaugh:

Yeahhh, Crystal isn’t exactly a well done adaptation of the manga, at least for it’s first 15 or so episodes. It does get better after that though and makes less and less cuts and stupid changes.

I heard the Eternal movies at least are supposed to be pretty good.
