Sailor Moon is definitely selling. People also forget that unlike Sailor Moon, Pretty Cure isn't a big hit in ever country. Sailor Moon had a release in some American theaters. How many anime get released in the movies after more than 20 years?

Pretty Cure is good in it's own right for its audience but SM is pretty much for everyone imo. Full of mature characters and arcs.

I've watched Pretty Cure the Yes Pretty Cure only because it looked like Sailor Moon..lol

I know folks that have looked at Pretty Cure and said, is that a new kind of Sailor Moon? Even folks that don't watch anime know who Sailor Moon is, none of them know much about Pretty Cure and they wonder if it's a show about medicine or something.

Miss Universe Japan picked Sailor Moon to represent her, not a Cure.

And arguably, Sailor Moon is good enough to have the same girls each season, Pretty has to change them to keep the series somewhat interesting.

That's like me and this guy at work bickering about Ultimate Goku beating Sailor Moon and I'm like...how..fool? Sailor Moon is pure cosmic energy..she don't need any ki...She will crush them all...well Sailor Cosmos would be no problem.
In my opinion Precure's alright but kinda feels a bit like a typical magical girl anime series and mostly only would appeal to little girls, Sailor Moon, despite the argument over the age range (some people say it's for kids, some say it's for teens upwards, etc.) could appeal to everyone.

i think will get maybe the designs or the the person who is going to write the script
my only worried is if we are going to have the 90s designs again like some people think because tadano return, i hope not, but well i need to be neutral
I more want it to be a mix of the 90's version, the original manga art and the third season of Crystal, not the abominations that were in the first two seasons of Crystal.

I might be in minority.I want a mix between the two styles. I don't want any 90s at all. The demographic for precise is for little girls. The manga of sailor moon was gear towards 9-15 years old. Crystal was gear toward adult women.

I don't want any season 3 or season 1+2 (ok, the music and the voice actresses). I want the story of the manga, well written and adapted in those two movies. give me that grown up atmosphere of the manga, beautifully animated, with some 90 nostalgia bits here and there. and i'm sold.

Jeez, that animation director was serious about that plot.
Well, nobody presseda knife on her neck, forcing her to do movies out of it. I will never completely understand their reasons to make their job harder, when they barely managed to adapt the manga in tv episodes format. Crystal team proved themselves unable to make the slightest deviation or original moment in Crystal, without creating problems, instead of improving the source. To make these people write a movie script is both ambicious and kind of stupid. Hope they replace the weak script writer.

^He's referring to my post about Digimon, the original Adventure/02 director quit because of what they want the new movie's plot to be.

They should have done that from the beginning.
Not every chapter in the manga has its climax or sufficient length for a 24 minute episode.
For example, the story in episode 21 is one of the weakest.

According to Viz, Crystal had more of a TV-14 rating, which I don't even get how, considering a lot of the times they toned down the violence the show had and butchered several scenes (Mistress 9 appearing and attacking Chibi-Usa, the Black Moon prison)...

Either way, I just hope that it's good, I don't want the franchise's reputation to end up being nearly destroyed again...

The sarcasm in here is golden but I am slightly irritated they did not animate all the scenes like should have from the manga. I'm not a huge fan of violent anime but if they left those scenes in tact, Sailor Moon would have been a magical girl with a good edge. Maybe they were scared of the reaction to such scenes. After all, Demando blasting a Chibi-Usa's look alike might have been a bit traumatizing to younger viewers lol. At least they kept a hint of a nun being burned in Rei's episode. I was a little shocked they left it in actually since they liked to axe other things for no reason...deacps of youma, Sailor Moon kick..etc.

I hope they stop.playing games and gnot censor the Dream Arc.

Stars had both their hits and misses in the anime/manga to me, if I were in charge of adapting Stlike have some of the Sailors actually travel to Sagittarius Zero Star [was the Sagittarius usage another Saint Seiya reference?] and show all the Sailors' castles, not kill them all off at once (by reputation I mean, I hope they don't butcher the Dream arc story, make the animation bad and push the Inners/Outers aside), to name a few.

I hope they stop.playing games and gnot censor the Dream Arc.
I do agree, they better not censor the horrifying nightmare part of I'll be pissed.

But what sarcasm?

I really hate auto correct but I was referring to the comments about the Crystal shenanigans and them being true and funny.

I watched the Digimon Tri transformations and they look still look nice to me. I saw a clip from the Dragon Ball Broly movie and the animation looks nice..though all these camera angles they do now a days...goodness. If the DBZ movie done then they should be ramping up to drop some info on Sailor Moon. The attraction is coming back to Universal soon as well. I'll keep my hope for something this year for sure.

It's because anime usually air on tv. They have guidelines, and laws they have to follow. Manga can do what they want

But then Crystal Season III was late night anime, while the first two were originally ONA. There are shows with much more edgy content airing just fine.
I don't think it matters its net animation.Rules still apply.Like you ca'tn show minor drinking. It doesn't matter if it's late at night or not. Rules still apply
