She's not here anymore, I guess. She attended Anime Friends this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. She was impressed by the fans asking her to sing C'Est La Vie, because in Japan her fans don't make this request. They sung the brazilian equivalent of "Happy Birthday to You" to her on Sunday, since her birthday is July 23rd. And I happen to be friends with two of those guys in the pics with her!

Have amended my post above accordingly.

Thx for the info. :)

A blog entry of Ayaka today about her various activities on her 1st day in Brazil lately, including press meeting, talk show, handshaking event, signing event, etc., w/ lots of pics (click to view them in their larger size):

小松彩夏『ブラジル1日目。』

^ As seen in the last couple of pics, she's even sung Moonlight Densetsu w/ a local live band.

Looks like she's got many fans over there. :)

BTW, I've heard a rumor many years ago that she grew up in a South American country, but I can never verify it.

Ayaka chan is very popular in Brazil...
I would do anything to be in Brazil and meet her...oh well...

Btw, if Im not mistaken, Ayaka chan lived in Argentina for 8 years!!
I think that she lived there before PGSM!!

That's what I heard, & there're "eyewitnesses"/"neighbors" (?) testifying it too, but there seems to be no substantial evidence as yet - if there really is, someone pls enlighten me. :)

I only remember that back in the day, some fans said that Ayaka chan lived in Argentina...so she speaks spanish??
If she did, of course she does. lol But I'm still waiting for any concrete evidence of whether she did or not. She does write in English quite well on social media & also pronounced English words accurately in an English song recorded many years ago when she was even way younger. Also, unlike all the other four Senshi actresses, she knew nothing about Sailor Moon before working on PGSM (she's become a huge fan since then), which's curious - how could a lil girl living in Japan not have heard at least something about it back then?

No...Ayaka chan surely knew about Sailor Moon int he 90s.....she even appeared on a SM videogame CM back in the 90s!!
(I think it was Playdia console)
But in the Preview Act for PGSM, she said that she wasn t a fan or something like that...

Then I must've mistaken about that - thx for the info. :) In any case, I'm still taking her "growing up in S. America" thing w/ a grain of salt, until I see any hard evidence.

Actually, Sailor Moon is not as popular in Brazil as it is in other Latin American countries. It's got a special place in the otaku community and in the hearts of people in their 30s who watched the first season alongside Saint Seiya and other anime in the now defunct TV Manchete, which even aired Poitrine, the tokusatsu Naoko used as inspiration to create Sailor Moon (specially the senshi uniforms).
But of all the major magical girl properties (Cardcaptor Sakura, Winx Club, Miraculous Ladybug) it is by far the least popular, since most seasons aired only on Cartoon Network in a time when pay TV wasn't really mainstream in Brazil. I wouldn't say that Ayaka is popular in Brazil; I would say the moonie community over here is very passionate about her and PGSM.

Also, SOS Sailor Moon, the biggest SM fanclub in Brazil, is going to post a interview with Ayaka soon. I doubt there will be English subtitles, though. Here's a preview:

Actually, she had two older brothers, so she didn't watch shoujo anime and only got to watch Sailor Moon in order to prepare herself for portraying Venus in PGSM. She said it herself in this interview she gave to a Brazilian otaku website:

Entrevista | Ayaka Komatsu

I will try to translate the rest of the interview later. She says some interesting things in it.
