I suppose if we are talking about continuity errors another one is a Sailor Moon manga vs. Sailor V manga error. In the first Act when told about Sailor V Usagi dosen't know who she is. However in Sailor V which again takes place a year before the events of the Dark Kingdom arc Usagi and Naru are going to play the new Sailor V game and Usagi is excited to play it Usagi is even shown without her transformation brooch showing it is before the events of Act 1 of Sailor Moon.

There's a continuity error regarding Minako's first crush, Higashi. In the "Princess Snow Kaguya's Lover" side story, Minako says he was on the volleyball team, but in actuality, in "The Birth of Sailor V," he's on the basketball team:
Are we sure the translation in Princess Snow Kaguya's Lover is accurate? Does it say volleyball in Japanese too? If so, could he had been a part of both the basketball and volleyball team? Is that plausible?

The translation is accurate (I know because I did it myself, haha). I mean, I guess it's ~possible~ he was in both, but he's never said to be on the volleyball team in Sailor V, nor is he ever shown playing volleyball, so it seems like a mistake to me.

More of a plot error than an art error, but it just occurred to me that since Chibiusa's pretending to be Usagi's cousin, her use of "Papa Kenji" and "Mama Ikuko" seems weird? Maybe it's not weird to Japanese readers, but I feel like "Kenji-ojisan" and "Ikuko-obasan" would make more sense? (Though I suppose she might be posing as Kenji's or Ikuko's cousin rather than their niece, but even then I think it's more natural for a young child to refer to an adult cousin as their aunt or uncle than as their mama or papa.)

Something Naoko and her team loved to do was cut up old magazines, cookbooks, and other things to create text collages to use as background art for the manga.

Unfortunately, for this panel from Act 27, they used text from a 1989 interview Donald Trump did with TIME Magazine:

This panel from the Makoto's Melancholy side story also uses text from that same interview:

If allowing Donald Trump, in even the tiniest of ways, to be part of the manga doesn't count as an egregious error, I don't know what does :supercry:

ETA: Text from that same interview was also used in this panel from Chapter 9 of the Sailor V manga:

I've just noticed that Sailor Moon's newsprint collage shadow in the first chapter title page illustration is also largely made up of this same interview. smh Of all the interviews/articles they could have used over and over again, why THAT one????

I'd headcanon that Usagi doesn't have the best memory.

Maybe Naoko wanted to follow Trump's footsteps and use her Sailor Moon fortune to build TAKEUCHI TOWERS all over the world, but later she found out she was too lazy for such an investment and decided to just keep milking her animanga franchise instead. P-:

But seriously, back then Trump was a sensation and even made appearances on popular TV shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which often brought up relevant social issues into conversation. There isn't really a problem with him being in Sailor Moon. He wasn't infamous as he is today.

From Act 17:

Minako's transformation pen reacts to Chibiusa's playing the Sailor V arcade game. The problem is it's her old transformation pen - the one she sacrificed at the end of the Dark Kingdom arc.
I noticed this error in my copy of the renewal edition's Volume 4.

First panel, as on previous page, Ami's swimming without wearing swim goggles. Second panel, she's suddenly wearing some. Third panel, they're magically gone again.
That can easily be explained. In the first panel, she's holding the goggles in her hand. You don't need them to just float on water. When she decides to do some actual swimming, she puts them back on and when she notices someone, she takes them off again to look at them better. It all checks out! :P
