Gonna get a Japanese major to translate questions that myu fans have about the future of the Myu. We'll get a native speaker to look over that and then and pray for an reply.

This isn't a petition, but a list of questions.

Got any questions that you want asked of the producers of the Sailor Moon musicals? Post 'em here and I'll relay them.

Told you there was a good chance for a response!!

I guess you're referring to this post on the seramyu mailing list ?

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/seramyu/message/16901

I interpreted that post slightly different I guess that its a little more than a Q and A session.

I think the idea is that someone is wanting to write a letter to BMO(the Japanaese fanclub for seramyu which is directly linked to the production staff) but they want to show BMO that theres a lot of fans in the west. So to this end they've got a gmail account where you can send a short email saying who you are, and where you come from and a few simple sentences about why you like the myu and 2 questions you would ask BMO if you were writing yourself.

All the emails of support will be attached to the main email and then BMO can read them and the best few questions translated to formal Japanese. or something.

I think the gmail account is gaijinseramyufan@gmail.com

I know i've made my contribution to whoever is doing this ^^.

Well whoevers doing it I'd say good on them. Its about time BMO realised there was a strong fan base in the West and that they should take notice. If this person gets a good few emails of support then perhaps they might stand up and take notice of us XD; If you post on other myu fan sites I'd add my dime and say spread the word about, the more people who get behind this the better XD.

Regards

a) I don't support Ken Yuen. b) It's more for questions, not numbers from my pov.

The problem is that there is no large western fanbase for the myu other than the 50 vocal online fans. Despite the 1,300-1,500 that downloaded the most recently torrented fansub--those numbers won't hold. I think it was more curosity seekers for the first widely released sub rather than diehard fans clamoring to buy the latest myu.

I'd be suprised if they recieve more than 15-20 mails. That is certainly not a groundswell of western support and statistically insignifigant for Myu sales.

Ken isn't the one doing the letter to BMO. He just heard about it and posted it on the list.
I know. However, I didn't want to direct people to his mailing list as he's anti-file trading of myus. Don't know why, but one would think it's because he sells copies of his fansubs and scans.

I agree that the western fanbase is insignificant. As much as it would be cool to see here, the circumstances surrounding the airing of Sailormoon in Japan as compared to the airing here are totally different. I mean, I would imagine it would get the same amount of respect here as say, "Sesame Street Live", except that Bert and Ernie are more beloved here than Ami and Lita. I would only want it to be here if it had a chance of attaining a certain level of respect, but that's just not likely at all.

Ken's against file trading of musicals that were just released because people download them rather than purchase them as support the musicals.
The link was to the SeraMyu mailing list. Ken's mailing list is the Cruel Angel Productions list.

And, I agree with Hades. I think the BMO people will roll their eyes and hit delete.

I agree with Hades and TakaJ. It's like if a 30 something Italian man wrote to Nickelodeon USA about the future of Dora the Explorer. Why should Nickelodeon care? Not their target age group, gender OR country. They have better things to do with their time.

Well, I do disagree with that. He's criticised the release of older myu as well. He's also the defacto moderator and major contriubtor of the SeraMyu ML.

(Generally, people do hold the new myus a month after initial release so that people who've ordered it get a chance to watch it.)

I was really dissapointed when Nekonoai deleted her Solarmiracle ML because it was at least an alternative to the main one. I wish [THE HAPPY PLACE] would make one...

(No offense to whichever one of y'all visit/own the invision boards. I hate invision and I hate spam packed "free" forums. Internet sites are so cheap to run now-a-days for fandoms with a small base of supporters, like the myu.)

Anyway--back on topic--BMO has replied before to the person who is heading this up. My purpose was to solicit questions about the future of the myu. The Western fan base is so insignifigant that it's not something to promote. I irks me when people cite it, as SOS often does/did.

I run the invision myu message board. We have no spam and no pop-ups.
If you want a better myu ML, why don't you make one yourself? They're just Yahoo! groups...

Google ads=spam. They're also not tucked away in a corner to give them more presence. They're akin to Jay's annoy-people-to-register-images that appear here when not logged in.

I personally dislike yahoo groups. They're outdated, from an earlier era in internet communications. I was sad to see neko's gone because it had so many helpful archived posts and files.

Ah, I see the confusion. I consider spam to be pop-ups, annoying floating advertisment windows, and junk posts to the group. A small banner at the top of a window doesn't really bother me at all.
And, forgive me if I'm confused again, but, I believe that if [THE HAPPY PLACE] started a myu group, like you suggested, it would have that log in message you mentioned as well. Not to mention the fact that there are not nearly enough Sera Myu fans on [THE HAPPY PLACE] to warrant an entire group.
You seem very dissatisfied with the online Sera Myu community right now... so, why don't you do something about it instead of just complaining?

This has gone completely off topic, now, but I'm replying because you keep insulting my website forums and the entire myu community without offering any solution to the problems you see.

I expect this thread to be cauldron'd any day now, anyway.

I like to do it but I lieve that Bandai will jusr throw my letter away without hearing my voice. :(
The letter is going to the BMO fanclub, actually. It's the official SeraMyu fanclub in Japan run by BMO which I think is an arm of Bandai--not Bandai proper. However, one has to be a Japanese resident to join. =/

They've answered questions in the past, so there's a chance..

I think the best thing to do is realize that Bandai will never bring Sera Myu to the english world and that fans of it must buy it online and enjoy what they can get a hold of it. It's sad to hear but it's the hard truth. :(

This was never intended as a project to being Sailor Moon into the English world. Been there, done that, signed that petition, remebered when Baidai said no and threatened companies that were distirbuting the product outside of Japan to stop doing it. (But they didn't give out teeshirts, which was sad.)

So we know that will never ever ever happen. It was just to soilcit firm info on the future of the show rather than the Japanese fansite heresay we've been getting.

Hello

Thank you for the mail.
They may seem rushed, but I will answer what questions that I can.

>Q: What is the reason for hiatus? Will the musicals continue, if yes,
when?

>A:
I don't know the specific details of the hiatus in particular. I think
there might be a few reasons. It is a long running musical, they might
want
something fresh... so there might still be some hope

But right now I can give you no guarantee of a revival. Of course, the
staff is hoping for a renewel.

>Q: If the musicals continue, will there be any new storylines?

>A:
After February we're having a tiny break, so for that duration we have
no
plans. In the case of a revival, I believe the story will be a new one.

>Q: (I wanted to ask if it will be influenced by the live action IF they
>come back, but they misunderstood it...)

A:
You're asking if the hiatus is due to the live action version? The
company
that produces the live action version is completely different, I don't
know
but, if it can make the fans more excited, both the musical and the live
action can be popular in my opinion.

>Q: If there is no musical in summer 2005, is it possible there will be
a
>Fankan?

There are absolutely no plans past March of 2005

>Q: Do you plan to hold any more events abroad like in Shanghai this
spring?

I don't know right now. There are no plans past March

>Q: (was about future DVD releases)

>A:
About the DVD, the company that produces that is complete different, I
don't
know what their plans are. Like before, if the fan club is passionate
about
something, the members can get the limited performance video (DVD) {They
have the preorder videos on DVD?! Or is this the just the limited
version
DVD?} and the fan kansha vieo only.

>Q: Do you plan to release past fan kansha events or the Anza musicals
that
>were not released?

A: Fan kansha events on video, willl be announced in the BMO club news.
Since you could only buy these tapes for a limited time, and these
previous videos were sold only once, right now I don't know anything
about them.

I think I've given you as satisfactory an answer as possible, please
understand this. Since we are a fan club, we have absolutely no control
over the merchandise. Also after February the fan club will go on
hiatus
with the musical, and we have no plans for revival at this time. Thank
you.

I know it's unintentional, but your posts are implying that this letter was your hard work, and I don't think that's fair to gumbaloom and Aniko.
Did I ever claim it to be my work? I volenteered to crosspost the message here when Aniko mentioned it to me one day. She wanted to remain anonymous at the time for whatever reason.

Someone's sill on my case for not disliking websites who use free hosts, eh?

um, no. Like I said, it was unintentional, but if I didn't know better I'd have thought that it was your doing.
Geez, don't be so defensive.
