[myu]Response from BMO...

Gonna get a Japanese major to translate questions that myu fans have about the future of the Myu. We'll get a native speaker to look over that and then and pray for an reply.

This isn't a petition, but a list of questions.

Got any questions that you want asked of the producers of the Sailor Moon musicals? Post 'em here and I'll relay them.

I interpreted that post slightly different I guess that its a little more than a Q and A session.

I think the idea is that someone is wanting to write a letter to BMO(the Japanaese fanclub for seramyu which is directly linked to the production staff) but they want to show BMO that theres a lot of fans in the west. So to this end they've got a gmail account where you can send a short email saying who you are, and where you come from and a few simple sentences about why you like the myu and 2 questions you would ask BMO if you were writing yourself.

All the emails of support will be attached to the main email and then BMO can read them and the best few questions translated to formal Japanese. or something.

Well whoevers doing it I'd say good on them. Its about time BMO realised there was a strong fan base in the West and that they should take notice. If this person gets a good few emails of support then perhaps they might stand up and take notice of us

The problem is that there is no large western fanbase for the myu other than the 50 vocal online fans. Despite the 1,300-1,500 that downloaded the most recently torrented fansub--those numbers won't hold. I think it was more curosity seekers for the first widely released sub rather than diehard fans clamoring to buy the latest myu.

I'd be suprised if they recieve more than 15-20 mails. That is certainly not a groundswell of western support and statistically insignifigant for Myu sales.

I agree that the western fanbase is insignificant. As much as it would be cool to see here, the circumstances surrounding the airing of Sailormoon in Japan as compared to the airing here are totally different. I mean, I would imagine it would get the same amount of respect here as say, "Sesame Street Live", except that Bert and Ernie are more beloved here than Ami and Lita. I would only want it to be here if it had a chance of attaining a certain level of respect, but that's just not likely at all.

I agree with Hades and TakaJ. It's like if a 30 something Italian man wrote to Nickelodeon USA about the future of Dora the Explorer. Why should Nickelodeon care? Not their target age group, gender OR country. They have better things to do with their time.

I was really dissapointed when Nekonoai deleted her Solarmiracle ML because it was at least an alternative to the main one. I wish [THE HAPPY PLACE] would make one...

(No offense to whichever one of y'all visit/own the invision boards. I hate invision and I hate spam packed "free" forums. Internet sites are so cheap to run now-a-days for fandoms with a small base of supporters, like the myu.)

Anyway--back on topic--BMO has replied before to the person who is heading this up. My purpose was to solicit questions about the future of the myu. The Western fan base is so insignifigant that it's not something to promote. I irks me when people cite it, as SOS often does/did.

I personally dislike yahoo groups. They're outdated, from an earlier era in internet communications. I was sad to see neko's gone because it had so many helpful archived posts and files.

Ah, I see the confusion. I consider spam to be pop-ups, annoying floating advertisment windows, and junk posts to the group. A small banner at the top of a window doesn't really bother me at all.
And, forgive me if I'm confused again, but, I believe that if [THE HAPPY PLACE] started a myu group, like you suggested, it would have that log in message you mentioned as well. Not to mention the fact that there are not nearly enough Sera Myu fans on [THE HAPPY PLACE] to warrant an entire group.
You seem very dissatisfied with the online Sera Myu community right now... so, why don't you do something about it instead of just complaining?

This has gone completely off topic, now, but I'm replying because you keep insulting my website forums and the entire myu community without offering any solution to the problems you see.

I expect this thread to be cauldron'd any day now, anyway.

I think the best thing to do is realize that Bandai will never bring Sera Myu to the english world and that fans of it must buy it online and enjoy what they can get a hold of it. It's sad to hear but it's the hard truth.

Since you could only buy these tapes for a limited time, and these
previous videos were sold only once, right now I don't know anything
about them.

understand this. Since we are a fan club, we have absolutely no control
over the merchandise. Also after February the fan club will go on
hiatus
with the musical, and we have no plans for revival at this time. Thank
