I googled this as I had never heard of it and very much wish I hadn't. The author of that really should get locked up. X_x Or at least not be allowed around children.
This is really really sick stuff. I cannot believe it is still not banned. Kodomo no Jikan is the trash I am glad we rarely see these days.

From an American point-of-view (these cultural things vary from country to country):

If memory doesn't fail me, Naru and Nephrite’s relationship was portrayed in the 90’s anime as being completely platonic and chaste. Or Am I wrong?

One can argue that Usagi getting drunk and then losing her consciousness and being kissed by Tuxedo Mask is a big “NO”—as is Chibiusa, a minor, threatening Usagi with a gun.

I never understand what's wrong with having some things in stories be problematic. If they were in real life. Its fiction,it's meant to be entertaining.I also disagree that kiss was a fantasy.
I don't mind problematic things in stories, I just dislike that particular scene and the story as a whole.

I'm from central europe and I find it funny that Usagi got drunk (I got drunk for the first time with 13, out of curiosity). And that kiss...haven't you sometimes dreamed of kissing the one you have a crush on? or to be able to get invisible to spy at him/her when he/she's naked? romantic feelings and sexuality is awakening in the that age and they are strong!

I agree, I see no problem as long as it is not framed in a gross way. Plus anime don't have the West as main target audience. It us bound to happen.

As I said, cultural values and differences vary from country to country.

We were discussing things that are deemed inappropriate in our countries, so I pointed out the example of Tuxedo Mask kissing a 14 year old Usagi when she is under the influence (the legal drinking age here is 21) & Chibiusa, a child, threatening an adult with a gun.

That being said, manga and anime indeed are from Japan & injecting our cultural values into something that doesn’t belong to our culture is a form of cultural appropriation.

Cultural values does NOT provide shield for kissing without consent, which is a form of sexual assault. That is complete bullshit, I'm sorry.

Realistically speaking, if they were in the U.S., Usagi would get into trouble, as would the host of the party (since the legal age to drink here is 21), and Mamoru would get prosecuted.

But it is anime, not real life.

Well, considering he was 16 (manga) or 18 (anime) and she was 14, considering she had a crush on him, considering their romantic love from the former life, considering it was was a gentle kiss (no tongue involved) the term "sexual assault" is a bit harsh in my opinion.

There's a reason why people hate [BLEEP] like Kodomo no Jikan, and what you say is excuses the fanboys use.
My point still stands. It dosen't matter that problematic things are written in fiction.
And yes I think Kodomo no Jikan is disgusting.I just threw up being reminding by it.

Also are we really going to be upset by a kiss. That was probably meant to be an homage to fairytales? In a manga series that was gear towards teenage girls.

People need to chill . Japan has different views on youth and relationships (I don’t agree but it’s not our concern.) I mean interspecies reviewers is a shonen, so that should tell you a lot. I really do think international fans of sailor moon or most manga adaptions especially in America should stop thinking that these companies and creators have you in mind at all when creating content. Both manga and anime are first and foremost for the Japanese public. When we start buying the amount of manga and watch the amount of anime (legally) that they do maybe things will change.

I heard the creator of Interspecies Reviewers deliberately was trolling the censors/broadcasters of Japan with what he did.

The reading comprehension is so poor on this forum, that when I say very clearly that non-consensual kisses are not OK, everyone is bringing up their ages despite it having NOTHING to do with my post. Let's be very clear, if Usagi was 30, and Mamoru was 17 and he still kissed her while she was asleep (and drunk in some incarnations), it is non-consensual and considered sexual assault.

Hello, this is Masato Sanjoin from PNP (Princess Naoko Planning). I heard some people from America are upset and "triggered" (is that the right word? I apologize in case of bad English, I'm still in training) by a fictional kiss originally drawn by Ms. Takeuchi in 1992.
You can all express your concerns at wecare@princessnaokoplanning.co.jp. Thank you.

Nobody says sexual assault was okay.Nobody did , but were talking about a fictional story.I think everyone would agree would you should not randomly kiss a stranger who is unconscious. But since this is a story. It's fiction is not meant to be taken seriously.
