Princess Kakyuu could have been handled better in both manga and anime

True, both arc has past their prime, most of the Stars epsiodes were meh. Siren&Crow was the only good part to me.

I think Naoko didn't have the concept of Chaos and ChibiChibi being Sailor Cosmos until very late, you can see unlike other big bad, Chaos was introduced very late.
True, but the foreshadowing is there. There was nothing to explain the existence of Pharaoh 90 and the Death Busters until Chaos revealed she was the mastermind behind everything.

I don't agree, and don't see it. What makes you say that?
I don’t know about Chaos being developed late, but in the Materials Collection, Naoko does say that when Sailor Galaxia’s bracelets are off, she becomes Sailor Chaos. Now that obviously doesn’t happen in the manga, but either it was Naoko’s initial idea or a plot line she pitched to the original anime’s team (which later got adapted as Chaos Galaxia).

I’m pretty sure Sailor Cosmos was always going to be a thing though.
This. Also Chaos wasn't shown until very late, unlike other big bads.

WHAT?! is there anywhere where I could look at this page, I had no idea. It does sound like Naoko went in a different direction, which I don't mind. I found Galaxia's character in the manga to be more compelling for it.

I don't mind either, the manga has a great ending and I like Galaxia's characterization. Just that most of it wasn't shown until the final few arcs.

On topic, I think the character of Kakyuu was handled just fine in the manga. She was introduced with a distinct personality, a clear goal she wanted to accomplish, and a role in the story.
100% agree. And her 'quick' death just after transformation isn't actually that quick, considering manga's pacing. (Especially compared with characters like the Amazon Trio ;p)

I think that the anime Galaxia had lots of potential and would've been executed well had we foreshadowing, too. The idea of a legendary soldier containing an ultimate evil isn't much different than what someone like Usagi would do so its a nice parallel

This is the original page. It's the last line or so, where Naoko wrote about Galaxia's bracelets. Which Alex Glover translated as:
Alex Glover said:
When Galaxia removes these bracelets, her true power appears. She becomes Sailor Chaos.
I think this is also why the one panel of Sailor Chaos looks almost looks a distorted version of Chaos Galaxia from the anime. In one the early Sailor Stars musicals, Sailor Galaxia also becomes Sailor Chaos.

Since we know that the original anime and '90s manga were created simultaneously through meetings with Naoko, the director, writers, etc. I wonder if the original anime was meant to have Sailor Galaxia turn into Sailor Chaos in the final battle, with Chibi Chibi becoming Sailor Cosmos like in the manga? It almost makes no sense as to why they casted Kotono Mitsuishi as Chibi Chibi and had characters discuss how "similar" Usagi and her were. I feel like the foreshadowing of Sailor Galaxia actually being a good sesnhi kinda came out of nowhere that I can almost believe it was a late addition to the story. But we'll never know...

Basically, in the anime Chibi Chibi was Sailor Cosmos.

This is said in booklet 2 of the Japanese Blu-Rays (Season 5).

During episode 191, when Chibi Chibi recovers the censer, she transforms into Sailor Cosmos. (What was originally planned)

During episode 200, Chibi Chibi assumes the form of Sailor Cosmos although it is not so named and it has no connection with the version manga (for the finale).

There are 100 ways to execute her well, I think other the writer's dumb try, it also got to do with they receive Chaos' setting a bit late.

I once thought about some better ways. Chaos was luring Usagi to kill Galaxia, so it could possess Usagi instead. But Usagi chose not to deliver the blow despite others told her to after defeating Galaxia, that would have made the ending much more convincing.

True, I think the mess of Stars ending got to do with them realizing Chaos too late, otherwise it would have better setup.
