Spoiler: show

The evil Dragonball here grants wishes but with a price. In the case of Diana of course she wishes for Trevor to be back. But the wish was flawed so it actually used another body for Trevor to possess against both their wills. Diana had sex with him knowing that (base on what I heard).

The guy who was possessed only showed up in the ending and flirted with Diana.

Still gonna watch it though only cause Gal Gadot. It suffers from bad writing but I don't think this movie is meant to be taken seriously. Also it's not on Jem's level of disaster.

Wow... this thread is seriously depressing me. No joke... I wish for high box office numbers for this film. However, I'm still rooting it on regardless even if I can't see it yet within the USA. The negativity lately is x10 though. I hope it still does very well. I want my beloved anime franchise to still do phenomenally well. It's hard staying optimistic due to circumstances and certain comments being made. However, I will continue to support this project all the way!

P.S. Any word on a production for Stars yet? Or too soon to tell?

Danichuy is claiming the movie is at the Top 10 Japanese grossing films and did even beat Wonder Woman, which premiered there recently.
OK, I don't know what to believe anymore. Let's just wait.
And honestly, for these people going back and forth, back and forth for days on the subject of Crystal being a failure or not... Get off the Internet, both for your own sake and for the sake of this thread.

My impression is that movie theaters were already in decline due to the revolution of streaming... and the pandemic accelerated that decline.

To illustrate my point, AT&T, parent company of Warner and HBO Max, stated that soon all Warner movies will be released on HBO Max the same day they hit theaters. This year’s summer Blockbuster, “The Conjuring 3,” will be released on HBO Max, for example.

If Netflix indeed is going to release Eternal, and there are many rumors that it will, then it is not time yet to judge the performance of the films. Wait until they get released on Netflix and then judge the performance of the films based on how well they do on Netflix.

I wouldn't say the streaming is the main reason for a low box office, since fans it will usually go to cinema.

Each Digimon Tri film also has a streaming and few theatres. In this case, the film was released in streaming only some hours after the release in cinema.

The fourth movie of Digimon Tri earned ¥61 million (about US$533,000) in 6 days and ¥140 million (about US$1.26 million) as a total box office.

I think the pandemia has some effect in the box office.

I don't think the pandemia affect so much Eternal (compared to other films), since Eternal films are mainly directed to big fans of Sailor Moon and most of them will go regardless the pandemia, but it should affect at some level.

And whats your point? Who talked about the 90s movies here comparing to Eternal? So everytime a Crystal stuff has something negative about it, the playing card here is attacking the 90s anime like a child that doesnt has its sweets? xD

I dont know the numbers of the SuperS Movie ( they are hard to obtain, I will keep searching for them to see how it worked ). If it was a box office failure ( I dont think it was since it was a movie oriented to kids and there are videos of the opening day with long group of kids with their parents waiting on the street to enter ) I would say it too. Its facts. We are not talking about some metaphisical subject. Box office numbers are statistics, scientific facts. Why cant you accept them and analise it without getting angry cause you dont like them and dont want to accept them?

Anyway, I think that they printed 250.000 cards of that Super SM tadano art for each sold ticket so I guess thats an official number we can take in consideration for the expectative of Toei during the time the movie is on cinemas.
Well, according to the Japanese wiki, the box office for SM SuperS movie is 600 million yen (6億円). I think it is also a limited released, but I'm not sure.

To be clear, this box office isn't exactly only for this film. The film appear along Ami's first love film and a Azuki-chan film (that said, SM SuperS film is still likely the main film).

Finally, the guy does not give a source, no link, just a blah ... Unlike the other who brings him the figures.
Then when we see him I have the impression that he's the hardcore fan.

I think Sailor Moon Eternal is likely top 10 between current movies in Japan. I don't think Japan has currently so many big box office.

I also think Toei should have reasonable expectatives for Sailor Moon Eternal in the current situation.

Wonder Woman was released 3 weeks ago in Japan, its totally normal that it has gone down in the ranking and now is almost out of the top 10. Is the normal circle of life of movies in cinemas ( Demon Slayer being n1 after months is not normal ). Other movies ( anime and non anime ones ) have been released. Eternal surpassing WW -on its third week on cinemas- is totally normal. Remember Eternal in its third day is almost out of top 10 so no... its not good at all cause today monday is probably out of the top 10 which means earning a few money every day before disappearing.

Wonder Woman was still in the top 10, last Friday. Place 8, more exactly.

I am registered on the official website of cinemas in Japan. The Box Office ranking is released tomorrow, every Tuesday.

In any case, on some cinema sites, the film is ranked in twentieth place among people who have watched it and rated 3.8/5.

Let's see tomorrow how the movies is doing... Anyway, a 3.8/5 is not bad being a Crystal movie. Its about a 7-7,5 puntuation. Didnt expect more tbh...

And this guy is... ? 320k seat available for booking doesn’t mean that it was the target of TOEI... reach an 100% objective target will be more than optimistic in pandemic time right now specially with so few theatres showing the movie...

anyway I’m not going to start a fight again... good night
TOEI is giving 250.000 limited copies of freebie (a bandai cardass) for earliest movies goers (source:劇場版「美少女戦士セーラームーンEternal」《後編》の予告編映像とポスタービジュアル解禁! さらに入場者プレゼントの配布が決定!:美少女戦士セーラームーン 25周年プロジェクト公式サイト )(and this type of freebie usally run out in 1 week) so they must expect 250.000 people to watch the movie in a week

Dont start with the "few theatres" excuse again. It can't even fullfill 30% of the seats in those "few theatres". It would have been a bigger loss if more theatres had been available
