My impression is that movie theaters were already in decline due to the revolution of streaming... and the pandemic accelerated that decline.
To illustrate my point, AT&T, parent company of Warner and HBO Max, stated that soon all Warner movies will be released on HBO Max the same day they hit theaters. This year’s summer Blockbuster, “The Conjuring 3,” will be released on HBO Max, for example.
If Netflix indeed is going to release Eternal, and there are many rumors that it will, then it is not time yet to judge the performance of the films. Wait until they get released on Netflix and then judge the performance of the films based on how well they do on Netflix.
