I love the Russian adaptations of Haruhi songs.

An exception. It was dubbed by Reanimedia I believe. They have some good dubs. But the vast majority of Russian dubs is cheap and low quality.

The dub has barely begun and apparently its translation is already a inconsistent mess.

"Moon Power" already got three different translations and "Fire Soul" got two.

Oh, and I must say Mercury's transformation call sounds like a performance from a voice-over instead of a dub.

But I like the voices and the acting seems fine in most of the clips I've seen.

After watching 21 episodes of the new dub I can say with certainty that I love Usagi's voice actress. She captures the character perfectly. Luna, Ami, Rei, Naru and Queen Beryl are also voiced very well. Can't say much about the male voices since they all sound the same. I hope by the time Artemis arrives they'll get at least one more male actor.

It was already said on this thread they find homosexuality acceptable in anime shown in channels aimed at adults.

So season one is finished. Overall, a pretty decent dub. The acting is good and the translation is mostly fine. I have only three complaints:

- Only six voice actors, which is normal for a Russian dub, but I hope in the future seasons they'll get a few more

- Lack of insert songs. They kept the melodies, but not the lyrics

- The translation is a little too faithful to the original voiceover sometimes

I almost forgot how amazing the finale is (the amnesia rubbish notwithstanding). The girls are such badasses! It's truly epic in any language and puts Crystal to shame!

Out of curiosity, which characters share voice actors?

From what I've heard, the European Portuguese dub wasn't much better. Even Haruka and Michiru shared a voice actress.
