I'm a little sad that it's been pushed back a year, but I am THRILLED that 1. they're not just doing the Dark Kingdom arc again, and 2. they're doing a Princess Kaguya's Lover musical, which is something I asked for ages ago! :D:mrgreen::D:mrgreen::D:mrgreen:

Do you think this means they'll adapt other side stories as musicals too? Which ones do you think lend themselves better for the stage?
I could see them possibly doing a Sailor V musical next. The first Chibiusa's Picture Diary could perhaps be turned into a new Dracul-esque musical, and the second could be loosely used as the basis of a musical exploring the Tanabata story from a different angle (perfect for a summer musical.) The other side stories, however... I could see perhaps incorporating elements from them in different stories, but I don't think Casablanca Memory the Musical would really make sense.

ETA: If they ever do a second "Super Live," I could see them taking inspiration from the Exam Battle Chapters. With the (first) Super Live, I get the feeling they wanted to keep the plot simple and fun and the cast size small for practical reasons, and I've heard that they basically just did a bunch of different scenes from the manga but there wasn't a strong, traditionally-structured plot per se. So I could see the EBCs working in a show formatted that way.

It's been over a year now since Le Mouvment Final was officially subtitled and had a limited theatrical run in the US, Canada, Australia, and Mexico, and still no word on a home video release or the other musicals being subtitled... I'd love for this upcoming musical to get officially subbed, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. :/

The Sailor Moon curse finally catches the musicals. Delayed by a whole year. I start thinkint Toei are not the only one to blame in the end. Unless the delay is to make it coincide with the first film, but Summer 2020 sounds way too optimistic for that. I am glad they are doing Princess Kaguya, instead of Dark Kingdom again.

They might have pushed it back to coincide with the Olympics next year, though I'm not sure I really buy that since they could have just done another musical again next year... Maybe they figured after both the NogiMyu and Super Live last year, it would be a good idea for the musicals to take a year off for some reason? Who knows.

The musicals were already suffering from the Sailor Moon Inconsistency Curse what with only one being given a novelization, the Inners being forced to graduate after the third one for no real reason, and only Amour Eternal and Le Mouvement Final getting CDs of just a few live recordings, both of which I think were only available to fan club members? A delay was inevitable given the franchise.

The L'Armour Eternal CD's were available to buy at the theatre. The Le Mouvement Finale CD's were only available when you paid FULL price from the fa club and Animate to get the bonus item. I had to double dip to get both CD's...
