While I agree, I remember years, probably decades ago, when fans, wanting to prove that they were true to the original Japanese version would insist on writing the names as "Sailormoon" (or worse yet," sailormoon") as that was the only proper way to render the names. The "justification" was that the names were never separated when referring to the characters and they hated the practice of referring to the names of the characters by their planets (like calling Sailor Jupiter "Jupiter"). Since according to them, the Japanese language did not have any spaces, neither should the romanization of those terms.
Sadly this horribly misguided influence has stuck in some fandoms, but that particular brand of...wrongness...didn't last in the Sailor Moon fandom.
