I must out my very small word in on this. I brought my set quite a while ago. Frankly, i'm very happy with the quality and the OPPORTUNITY I have to own all of these all at once. It makes the whole, 2 week SM watching frenzy a little more simple. -Less getting up to change tapes. I would recomend it unless you really need to have the top quality stuff. because honestly, I don't know that much. But I do know, it was worth my money.

I completely agree with you. I think the DVD's are excellent quality, and, it's also a huge privilege to have Sailor Stars on DVD (well, it's a privilege to just have and/or see it).

about stars, i hear a lotr about it being the best or tied with SMS as the best, but how is it compared to the rest of the show? Is it your average season no different, MOTW kind of thing the others were, or is it more of an on going story.

About Stars, I hear a lot about it being the best or tied with SMS as the best, but how is it compared to the rest of the show? Is it your average season, no different, monster-of-the-week kind of thing the others were, or is it more of an ongoing story?

It's kind of apocalyptic. Very different from your usual Sailormoon. It has a lot of violent and some nude scenes especially towards the finale. But I'm guessing the creator of Sailormoon did not like the anime version of Sailor Stars simply because it was changed so much from the manga. I like the manga version better.

While VKLL subs are the only source for Stars in any decent form, just note that their translations, while okay, aren't usually right. They get the just of what is being said but there always seems to be something missing or something is worded wrong. If raws were more readily available I know of a group that would probably release more HQ subs with good picture and translations.

Stars is the best of the five seasons, in my opinion ^^ I wish they would release it here in the US.

It's odd, I thought I was alone in thinking Stars was the best season. So many people seem to really dislike it. The season starts off with a mini-arc, which basically ties up the previous season. I think these represent the very best of Sailor Moon. All plot and no filler, these few episodes are pretty damn exciting.

The rest of the Stars also seems lighter on the filler than previous SM seasons. Even at its worst it shines like a beacon of quality after all that dreadful Pegasus/Twinkle Yell nonsense (of course, that's just my impartial & probably impaired opinion).

And let's not forget the Sailor Stars theme. To my way of thinking, the best opening theme of all 5 seasons of anime, and indeed even better than our currently beloved Sparkling Sailor Diamonds.

I personally have S at the bottom on the best list. I am a loyal fan of SUPER S, but Stars, maybe Stars is better... I feel it is te sweetest and most full of love one, the one that touches the deepest into your heart, that is how I felt when I saw all of Stars and I hope the light reaches all of you... LOL :D

Moonlight Densetsu is a classic anime opening song, but Sailor Star Song is just awesome!!!! I love te girl s pretty voice full of love and it just sounds so nice, and the melody of te song is so heart warming, my favorite Sailor Moon song is probably the other song she sings.

sailorstars is the most complicated and confusing season .. IMO.

I like all the seasons respectively .. but my favorite seasons are sailormoon and sailormoon R. Supers and s are cool, but they have too many boring eps. But I still like supers because of the "dream" theme. =)

Out of all the seasons, Sailorstars is probably my least favorite. I felt that it rehashed too many concepts used in previous seasons, even worse than the other seasons did. So many times throughout the season I was thinking "been there, done that." I also didn't find the plot with Galaxia and the Starlights searching for their princess all that interesting, Seiya got on my nerves and most of the six-part finale was so unoriginal. It's not all bad though; I absolutely love the first six episodes, although they belong more with SuperS than they do Stars. Taiki and Yaten are pretty neat characters, and Chibichibi is kind of cute, although I prefer Chibiusa. I also thought that episode 198 was good and sad.

I rank the seasons like this:

Classic > S > SuperS > R, Ail and Ann Arc > R, Black Moon Arc > Sailorstars

This is random, but shortly after running across this topic I actually bought that DVD set. Sure its bootleg, I guess, but it was worth it to me. The subtitles are pretty good, but all I need is just the raws and I'm happy. I'm just happy to have Stars in some form I'll be able to watch on my DVD player at home instead of just my computer. Or risk having my VHS fansubs torn to shreads by my VCR x_x Now... just to figure out how to save my musical VHS's...

Are you refering to the VKLL DVDs as the ones you have? The set mentioned in the first post of this topic does not have hard subs, so they are effectivelly raw.

You can set them with English subtitles though. But the VHS set I have is VKLL fansubs.
