Season 4 movies update: Sailor Moon Eternal - Coming in 2020

I think I can see how she blended the 90s and Crystal into this. I see it more in Venus though. The longer back bows of the Senshi and the modifications to the hair. These do look like updated version of the 90s tho. I can def see what others see in them looking young but I don't think that's too bad. I mean they are 15 but I can understand how some folks may want them to look older but at least they aren't super Moe (if that's such a thing..) I'm already legit emotional now because I'm starting to remember some scenes from the manga (with Artemis) and I'm like..if they keep that in. Am I going to be ready to see that?

Also, the biggest thing for me in my mind atm. For the new Sailor Moon people who have not read the manga or the people who are very used to the Cloverway/Funi Dub now...I'd like to see some reaction vids because the manga Dream series is nothing like what we got anime wise. This is really the first time this version will (may) receive a proper adaptation and the look on some the faces of people not knowing what to expect will be a delight. Fingers and toes crossed.

Yeah. I love :minako:'s redesign the most. Not a fan of :usagi:'s though. She looks like she belongs in one of those weird looking Precure series and looks too simplistic.

Does the Jojo writer make supporting characters shine like Rose Tico in Star Wars The Last Jedi?

Yep and will readily kill them too..lol

A list of of some of the scenes that appear in JoJo

The death of Jonathan Joestar is regarded as one of the saddest moments in the series. The entire scene is incredibly heartbreaking and tragic.

The scene where Vanilla Ice kicks a Boston Terrier named Iggy is very sad and disturbing as the scene lasts for about a full minute and Iggy is shown with broken bones and bleeds everywhere. Iggy later dies from these wounds in a very sad scene.

Polnareff, realizing he is about to be killed by Vanilla Ice, says one final goodbye to his friend Iggy and apologizes to his friends for failing to win; however he is saved at the last second. This scene is incredibly intense and sad.

The murder of Shigechi is extremely violent and upsetting, especially since he is a mentally-challenged child. This will most likely upset most viewers.

Reimi Sugimoto and her dog Arnold have emotionally upsetting backstories, as they were both murdered by Kira and are now ghosts.

The spirits of Ghost Alley are very frightening and disturbing, appearing as thousands of massive, demonic hands that grab and tear apart their victims before dragging them off into a hellish dimension. Yoshikage Kira is a victim of this, as the hands grab him and break his body into several bloody pieces. This is very dark and can even be upsetting, as the hands are the spirits of every girl Kira himself has murdered.

I don't think Dream will be that dark but I'm just saying...Idk about Kon and JoJo writer teaming up. We might get something..lol

I can't believe how dramatic people are being about concept art close ups. Judging an entire season that we have yet to actually see in action yet... everyone chill, lmao. As an artist myself, it breaks my heart to see so many people talking bad about someone's art that legitimately looks great.

Will this whole section be renamed to 'Eternal'?

I'm glad to see they have a date, though considering how Toei has acted, I would not be shocked if it is pushed back a year or two.

The character designs look really good. I can't wait to see some real animation in the future. (Basically I don't give my hopes up for a release date until I see some real footage as proof)

Especially when Crystal has already set a precedent for [BLEEP] art

I think they look like 10 year olds and they are supposed to look older.

That being said, I liked season 3 a lot; to sum it up, as long as the story is interesting and they don't delay the release, I am satisfied.

Naoko being supervisor means they will let TUXEDO MASK / CHIBA MAMORU develop something, won't they!!?
It's actually amazing that Naoko is part of the production. This indicates that they care more this time and that the movies will reach a certain quality. With a writer who's experienced and her supervision they will be able to transform the episodc manga into a screnplay that works for the two movies. They will have the nececcary freedom to change things and Naoko will be able to add things she couldn't back in the days.

I'm hyped for this production. I think, they should have done this movie-treatment right from the start instead of making a 1:1 episodes of the manga.

I like the character design, I just think the girls look too young. Chibiusa is perfect though. I like that she looks like a cute mascot :) I hope the Outer Senshi will look much older and Saturn closer to the Inners then Chibiusa. And I really hope, they won't white-wash Sailor Pluto. Her skin in the Dream arc got much darker.

From this point, the whole Sailor Moon reboot starts making even more sense, because SuperS was so different from the original material. And Stars also left out many events of the manga.

Although Naoko's style is quite minimalistic in some ways, the manga also has lot's of detailed scenes that need to be a proper execution. I felt like Crystal often missed opportunities. Like creating interesting backgrounds. The landscape/surrounding in the final battles always looked so generic. They gave like minimal effort. Best example: fighting Metalia.

This has so much potential to be transformed into a gorgeous epic scene:

I feel like Usagi looks a bit different in her key art than she does in her concept art. That's why I'm gonna wait for some more promotional art and a trailer before I properly judge the character designs.

The Naoko supervizing thing is probably because they have to change stuff for the movie format and they need her approval. It might even be just formal. Or maybe sge insisted this time, after the Shittenou added matetial. Maybe at least the adaptation is going to be decent.

Her involvement kind of worries me. I heard she was very demanding when it came to the S movie. Also, seeing how annoying the author of Fruits Basket has been, I'm worried Naoko might pull the same crap. Here's hoping everything goes fine.

Yes! This! I think the only time Crystal succeeded was the Achiral and Chiral fight in the second season.

They corrected Super Sailor Moon’s tiara and even added the gradient back to her skirt which l think probably came from consulting with Naoko.

The key art comes directly from the manga as well.

Ehh!? I think that was the most awkward thing. The team who did episode 13 and 19 used a very lazy and old animation technique, it feels like watching Oniisama e or The Rose of Versailles again.

Because that worked so well last time with SenxShi... :|

We're also seeing this right now with Evangelion since most of the known translation changes done to FUNi's 3.33 release & the original's new dubs & subs on Netflix were ordered by Khara (Hideaki Anno's studio) and so far, Italy was ordered to redub it again because the dub that was already up was terrible.

To add another example, another demanding creator is Naoki Urasawa:

There hasn't been any news on that Pluto anime since 2017...and people were actually looking forward to that Monster live-action adaptation.
