I remember when the movies got more info announced on Usagi's birthday that shortly afterwards Viz tweeted the English logo and announced that they had the rights to Eternal. I'm very excited to see more Sailor Moon movies in theatres.
Did they? I thought it was just Anime Expo panel with international logo from Toei. Didn't know Viz confirmed having Eternal. With this in mind I cannot count on homemade release before late in 2021 :(

Agree, looks like Chibimoon to me, Sailor Moon maybe on her left side in the background. And the special effects remind me of Serenity using the silver crystal.

Too gard to tell... If only it was a bit less bright. I can see a pair of eyes, but it looks like precure. Still he is usually the first to tell something about Crystal.
I agree, it looks a bit like Chibi-Moon from season 3 or a bit precurish, akira takahashi style....

oh gawd, please make those movies look/sound/feel great!

It looks like Chibi Moon. And as someone said, he looks to be being a rather off version of Sailor Moon's speech. In the name of the Moon, I'll punish you...He also look alike he is using the Silver Crystal like Sailor Moon did against Beryl.

But then again...the one on the right does look like Star Twinkle Pretty Cure who also looks like Chibi Moon.

It also appears that someone may be behind her holding a weapon or something. If you look upwards you can see certain parts of this object are revealed while other parts aren't like someone is holding it tilt towards the side. Kalideoscope perhaps?

It's not really that clear and this could be Pretty Cure but the background slightly favors Tando's Chibi-Usa.

Now that I look closer I can definetly see Usagi behind Chibi Usa. She is doing her pose and her hair floats around chibi. I think I can make out Usagi odangos as well, but it might placebo. If it is new artwork it is not fair. We wanna see it tooo!!! I swear if I see that one key visual used on more merch again... Still cannot get it, what was the idea behind this empty site. Give us some artwork darn it.

If you look at the original post on his Instagram account the image is more clear and you can definitely see Chibi Moon and Sailor in their "I'll punish you" position.

Ok now i saw it. It is def S Moon and Chibimoon. Chibimoon looks older then on the official art. The proportions are different.

It's way too bright to make out any details besides Chibimoon's eyes, but hopefully we'll see some new images soon?

It is about time. If Toei treat it as most of their films, we should see a proper first trailer by January or February, most likely for the franchise anniversary. So it is bound to happen. I just hate how they release 2020 calendar using 90s artwork. I love the 90s anime, I swear, but they make me start getting sick of it. They should promote this new films and show this new artwork more to people to make them get used to it. 2020s calendar would have been perfect with art based on the 2020 films. But oh, no, let's use the same 90s artwork. With all the go go ga ga with the old show redub, release and everything being about it, for the first time I feel tired of it. You have it, it is out, it won't get proper HD masters ever so everything possible has been done with it. Let it be and develop the new present title you never give a chance from the very begining.

I know we're not supposed to get our hopes up too much eith Toei, but this is really exciting. I haven't watched anime on so long and I keep coming back to Sailor Moon. She's still around after all this years.

And even some of the fans gripe, we all love her and will still check out the film anyways to see how it is. Imagine...the Dream Arc getting a much more faithful adaptation! This is a first for old and new Moonies so..it's almost like starting over fresh.

I really think it's cool I've lived long enough to be in two animated generations of Sailor Moon. When I first discovered it in the 90s I had to find out more. I thought it was something unlike any cartoon I seen before. Now, I grin when I see new Moonies this generation watching Sailor Moon Crystal and liking it and now these movies are coming out. Two of them! Fingers cross these two studios coming together make 2020 the best with the trailer and new film.

It IS super exciting! We‘ll get 2 new Sailor Moon movies after more then 20 years. I hope and I bet each one of them will work as a standalone film, like each Lord of the Rings film. And the screenplay will require changes I‘m really fine with that, because we all know now that an animated version ofthe manga needs its own dynamic.

I wonder when and how Toei will start promoting the movies. What kind of merchandise will be released? What partnerships will follow?

I also wonder: will we notice that DEEN ist co-producing it? I really want to know who‘s working on the project.

I higly doubt they will work as standalone film. Probably they will somehow recap previous seasons, but Chiaki Kohn said herself they are still sticking close to the manga, so they will still feel like a continoation of a story ratjer than standalobe films. This is not the same as the old films where no prior knolwedge is essential. Dreams manga arc further develops the already established Silver Millenium and add a lot of world building to already referenced events, whixh I doubt they can make work as something stand alone. It is still Crystal Season IV, and not a new movie adaptation or inspired film.

It’s NOT season 4. It’s not a series. It’s just the continuation storywise, but in Japan they don’t even call it “Crystal” anymore.

You can tell the story of the msnga faithfully even with massive dramaturgic changes.

For the rest of the world it IS Season IV as stated on the international logo. We shall see though. There will inevitably going to be cuts, but I doubt they will cut most references to Silver Millenium events and they won't have time to recap this. Story aspect aside, I am way more interested in short hair characters design. They looked like after lobotomy in Season III

Its not really surprising they're using the 90s anime to promote Sailor Moon right now. The new movies are still far away and clearly still in production so its a little too early to start the promotion. They could use old seasons of Crystal to promote stuff... but im afraid they dont have that much faith in them.. they never did sadly. I feel (or rather hope) they want to make a new fresh start for Crystal with the latest chapter. Maybe the eventual success of the movies will made Toei appreciate the entire series a bit more. And hopefully they have better quality and promotion prepared this time around
