Hmm, isn't this the first time we've seen Sailor Moon in original sailor uniform in this style? Something about it looks different? Maybe the colors or the brooch?

Also, the shot of the Senshi....They all look so pretty! I love it!

We already saw the original uniform in Mugen Style of a recap when she is summoning the Chalice in Season 3. This is the first time we saw the first season one tough ( with the wrong tiara lol ).

Yeah I’m not a huge fan of the backgrounds, either. They aren’t objectively bad but they always look really washed out. Especially in scenes where it’s dark. I had the same problem with Nemesis. All looks a bit flat and generic.

It's on all series now. The computer has smoothed the whole image, there is no more relief.

At the time, the celluloid offered a good image with a relief (different celluloid placed on top of each other), this brought a relief, a thickness.

Whether it's DBS, Sailor Moon Crystal, or other recent anime, they all have the same problem. All images are smoothed, and the background is anchored with no depth relief.

This is one of the reasons that I am recent anti-anime (I make the effort for SM) but it stops there. I prefer watching with celluloid, there was a lot more life.

and empty. The whole north pole scenario in season 1 was aseptic. And by what I’ve seen from Eternal, it didn’t get much better. It lacks of expression by trying to hard to look pretty.

I hope they correct some of it for the Blu Ray release, but it looks nice overall. It'd be cool if they had Tadano make some art of Usagi and the others in their outfits from the previous seasons.

I don't like how Usagi is dependant on Mamoru's affection, maybe because of the "feminist" ideals we have in today's society.
But what matters is that at the the end of the day, she gathers the strength to protect and save the world by herself.

I agree! I don't like the fact that Mamoru is needed for that added "strength & power", when in the 90s it was more about being self-reliant and independent as a fighter. And I'm a guy saying this but I love those aspects of a magical girl series.

Sailor Moon is like a conduit for the best of all of them throughout, though. It's not just relying on his power. She repeatedly only pulls things off because the senshi lend their power to her in the manga and 90s anime. SuperS attacks were only possible with Helios'/Chibi-Moon's help. I don't see it as weakening her as a powerful woman. Nothing wrong with drawing strength from your loved ones IRL or otherwise.
