I am so curious in what way DEEN will be involved. Aren‘t they good with static, pretty characters? Maybe they‘ll do backgrounds? Since they are not well known for fluid animation, i doubt Toei will hire them for this kind of work.
From the few backgrounds we have seen in the trailer I assume they are using the same people for that. They won't hire studio like Deen for background art. They might do touch up, cleaning animation, in-between animation. The first time they revealed Deen I thought they needed more people as they working on both films simulationsly. The first plan was both to premier in 2020, but now with the pandemic I doubt it will be the case. Still, if my guess is right even part two should way in production and might premier in early 2021 as long as part 1 is not delayed. I don't think Deen are doing anything specific, just animate together with Toei as we are talking about 2 films and probably on the longer side.

I’m very curious as well. Deen can make some great series, it’s more of a hit or miss in the animation department. But I honestly think konosuba looks quite nice at points.

Deen are probably just helping out with in-between animation or what not. Kon has connections with Deen so she probably may have asked some of their better animators to assist with the movie too. Who knows?

I dont know the state of most places dealing with the pandemic but they are gradually easing up here and it's just May. We have months before the release and unless something drastic happens all of a sudden, I dont see them cancelling it.

Im not too strict on the animation of a series as much as I am the story.

I cannot wait to hear who are the voice actors for the Dead Moon Circus.

Should we expect a proper trailer on Usagi's birthday???? That is when big news is always released.
We really don't know what to expect. I wouldn't guarantee it but I can't deny it either. It's really up to them how they want to do this. You never know what they may have planned. I know before we even got a trailer I posted on here several times that something was coming soon continuously and then one day bam, I login and found out of a there was a "leak"...so I say keep one eye open just in case.

I have been watching the shows the our new writer has done he did all of mEveryday life with monster girls and a bunch of pripara episodes and a pripara movie plus I watched his JoJo episodes and I’ve noticed a similarity in the writing and pacing. There is a dark humour to his work, lots of off beat moments I think that this will translate well with the circus theme. I also have a feel chiaki kon wants to bring some ikuhara touches.

Yes, Ive been saying this when I first found out the writer was attached. If you've also played JoJo's Bizarre Adventure game and watched the anime you can easily see how if Sailor Moon Supers was geared toward older audiences, how weird it is like JoJo with the freakish designs like the Lemures.

Our movie might not get that dark but I MEAN we have Kon, Deen and the writer all working on it. None are a stranger to darker anime productions. I wonder how some fans who are not familiar with the darker aspects of Sailor Moon would respond. I bet it would be 10x more emotional and shocking for them.

Toei should have paired with AIC if you ask me, their animation quality usually was good, if not great or fantastic in the 80's, 90's and 2000's (sans the X rated stuff they did I've heard) from what I know of (like something like Ah My Goddess the Movie, for example, the animation there is practically Ghibli quality).

They haven't done anything since 2016, at least to my knowledge. They have some good stuff prior 2000s then started the ecchi and 80%of their shows looked like Nanoha. Blah. The new Yanato films were not bad though. And if we are talking about the 80s and 90s when they were really good, so were Deen back then. Deen are not bad studio, but they have the bad luck of either getting hired to adapt something that is already polarizing by source, or in the case of Seven Deadly Sins, to replace the studuo. But Deen has produced way more excellent shows compared to AIC.

DEEN produced Tenshi no Tamago, a masterpiece. Many, many years ago.

I might also watch those episodes of the new writer. In the end it’s up to Chiaki Kon. What’s her relationship with Ikuhara and what are the Ikuhara elements the new writer puts in his work?

AIC is the Tenchi Muyo studio and they are currently in the middle of working on the 5th OVA series.

Hishashi Kagawa did the Sailor Moon redraw challenge on twitter:

Since he confirmed he did a small part in Eternal, it’s very interesting that he chose to redraw the above image into age switched Super Sailor Moon.
Can't find the picture.

They also did Ah My Goddess, now own Bubblegum Crisis, and did the Gall Force series along with Artmic (Artmic has been defunct for 23 years though).

He was the character designer for the SuperS movie, where we see all the girls as kids in the OP and that one illusion sequence. I think that's it.

Unrelated, but Ikuhara did the redraw challenge while advertising episode 31 :P

I think the best would be to just forget about Eternal for the foreseeable future. With everything being so out if schedule it is a matter of time for them to delay it to 2021.Which means most of us won't see it till like 2022. I plan on just move on from it from the time being, so I won't be disappointed. There is just not anything to talk about it for now. We will see after June 30th, but at this point I doubt they will reveal a thing.

I wonder what Sailor Moon would have been if we actually started out with them like this as kids and as the seasons progressed, they got older?
