To me that's what separates Sailor Moon transformations from other shows. It had an elegance to it that was like a graceful ballet dancer. Most of the transformations now have that Pretty Cure fast, "Boom, Boom, Pop" type of transformation stuff even though the transformations take forever.
Like Moon Crystal Power Make Up was elegant. From the ribbons flowing to how everything seemed ethereal. Now most stuff seems like a pop music video. I was listening to a song from the S movie called Shou and Sentou and that's the kind of music I miss from the series.

Yes but Moon Crystal Power didn't have excessive twirling and whirling, each movement coincided with the transformation. She stretches her arms gracefully, her gloves appear. We see her perfect on pointe toes, her boots appear etc.
In my opinion 90s Moon Prism and Moon Crystal transformations should be what any transformation sequence should strive to be. They were absolutely perfect.

I watched the „new“ transformation again and again. it looks unfinished bit they can fix it here and there, add some frames and it will look decent.

My only biggest problem with it is when they are back to back in the original they move their hands a bit to the side and it looks elegent. In the new one they keep them close to the torso and they look like corpses... It is literatry one movement that could make a difference. I am mostly mad because they choose to showcase a transformation over 30 seconds of something else. Yes they wanted Chibi Usa and Usagi, and they might have shown original footage from the film - like them slapping bodies - it fits the birthday theme and it would have been original footage. We have seen like 10 frames of original footage that is not remake... If they didn't make this transformation a focus and promo material it could have passed in the actual film. But they put so much emphasis on the recreated stuff from the 90s and it pales in comparison... There are many people, like me that focus on other stuff rather than the stock footage and the backlash would have been a lot less. We want to see their actual work, rather than 90s v. 2.0.

While I don't think the animation will be even touched, I do hope at the very least they improved the sound effects and some of the particle effects (since that's done through post production).
Like the transformation feels so weird because it's so quiet... The ribbons come out and it's like ~silence~.
And yeah the particles look cheap compared to what we saw in Moon Cosmic Power last season which was beautifully done by Shida. I'm not expecting anything at that level at this point, but surely instead of having hearts come out for both Usagi and Chibiusa, Usagi should get little moons?

The main questionnis there something new written there. Smaller Pegasus works for me considering how tiny Chibi Usa is.

I think smaller pegasus was fully intentional.
Im still unsure what to think. The speech part looks fluid. The transformation doesnt. The attacks we saw look pretty fluid aswell. Im not gonna put my faith into Toei too much but i think there is a small chance they will correct the transformation.
At least so far we didnt saw ugly/derpy faces. Thats a small plus

we haven't seen much original footage though. Most of it is retraced, the transformation, the speech, the attacks minus Mercury, the group shot of the girls. It is easy to stay on model when you are copying. And the new original frame with Pegasus gives me the usual Crystal quality. I am not bothered by his size, but the girls look quite of model and Diana is.... Well, why they are advertizing with such shody frames? Then the other original shot with Usagi huging Mamoru. It us too bright, but I can see her face is off model a bit. But the hair animation looks fine in it.
