I'm glad that she doesn't look like 90's version. Both SMC3 and SME's versions are better.

90s Michiru is very beautiful, elegant, mature and you can sense her sharpness/arrogance beneath the refined looks.

It's my taste. To be honest, I somehow love Michiru and Hotaru's hairstyles in SMC3 even more than SME. It's just the bubbles that bug me.

I've never been a fan of the outers(love me some minako+rei) but damnnnn these designs!!
Haruka looks gorgeous. Maybe the most gorgeous any character has ever looked in all SM Crystal history.

Apperantly the new schedule book has silhouettes of the villains. Not that we will see anything from that, but it indicates they might reveal some art for them soon. I hope somebody post picture for us of these silhouettes.

Helios, I guess. All the silhouettes are so cool, especially Venus and Mars. I hope we are going to see the artwork theyy were taken from. I guess the Quarter are going towear leggings as in the 90s but hard to tell.

Some of the comments on the Outers' designs (and, by extension, all of them) are really weird to me so I'm just gonna vent real quick.
Everyone looks too young? Honestly, it's more like Naoko forgot how to draw young characters as the manga went on. Chibiusa especially looks weird in her art from the 2010s. Don't forget, the main five are all only supposed to be 14-16 throughout the series. That's not old.

And Haruka/Michiru/Setsuna all look like adults no matter how hard I squint my eyes and try to see otherwise.

(Semi-unrelated, but I found these amazing comments on Twitter when people were complaining about Super Saturn's white brooch. Yeah, sure. It's the 90's anime's fault it's white now. Even when it was purple in the 90's anime. )

It's not about how she forgot how to draw young characters, but she intended to draw them as mature and beautiful senshi while their true age was 15-17. It happens a lot in manga/movies.

The main problem is not age, but the lack of soul on Michiru.

How can you tell she lacks soul. I mean it is two pieces of artwork. I find her beauiful and ellegant. We simply need to see more of them and some close ups and full character design sheets to judge. I know she is your favourite character and we haven't even seen her in motion. I still find her design and Minako's the best in Eternal so far, based on one picture. I am sure she is still going to be awesome. And she looks way better compared to the season 3 design. Except for the blu ray cover with her and Uranus - it was a very beautiful art.

As for the Hotaru brooch - yes it is pale, but it is still somewhat purple. People are freaking out over such a small outfit details like the planets on her earings being yellow.

much better! but remember, those are not the updated designs we saw in animedia. seems like the schedule book used the final designs/settei. if you look closely, neptune’s hair is slightly longer.

No, to be honest I agree. But this uniqness and refinment I have sadly seen in hand drawn animation only. With the digital era of animation came the very precise and clean artwork and colors while rich and more precise, quite lacking that feeling of the past. I will always love the original 90s character designs and they will always be my favorite, but if they are reproduced with current technology they look very different, clean and simple. Look at Marco Albiero work and compare it to the old LCD covers. Same designs but the unique look is lost. This and the old trends in animation and designs added to the great visual appeal of the 90s show, especially in eposodes done by the better animation directors.
