I like the second shot. A few people bring that moment up and say it’s bad but I think they look great there that whole sequence is beautiful. I think the only episodes that are truly questionable in season 3 are ep 10 and especially ep 11. The rest Look great especially 6 7 13.
You mean episode 12 of season 3, not episode 13? (in which Saturn appears.) :)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Viz has yet to say anything about Eternal right? I wonder if they’re still going to be the distributor in the US or if Toei will go a different route (possibly even trying to roll it out themselves.)

If the Happy Meal rumor turns out to be true, and it’s actually for Eternal and not the Classic show, then that’s a hint that there’s already a rollout strategy in place for the US.. I’m just not sure who’s behind it.

If the Happy Meals are actually for Classic, then I also wonder how they’re planning to market that. So far, none of the SM merch stateside has been catered to kids. So unless they plan to run a new promo on Hulu or switch to another streaming service aimed at kids, and heavily promote it, then I don’t know how they’re hoping to be successful from this.

I can agree with that. I think it's time we had another poster. I don't think we've gotten any group shots yet. I'm not familiar with how the Japanese media advertise their films but from past posts from people who have some idea, the Japanese seem to be very secretive (relaxed) with marketing films. I would have to know how they marketed Dragon Ball movie or Pretty Cure movies to know for certain but they might give us tidbits here and there until we get to December. To be fair, I do agree that it is also time for a new trailer but it looks like the Japanese fans may get all that but the international fans won't yet unless they share it like the Zirconia bits.

Im a pretty patient Moonie but I would like to see something new. Maybe, a sneak peek from an action scene or an Inner transformation or them in civilian then in their suits. They don't have to spoil it all yet, but I believe they transform with Sailor Crystals now instead of wands.

I found what looks like the original Sailor Moon R movie trailer in Japan, (at least one of them) and it looks just as empty as the Eternal one...lol I'm not exactly sure if it's the only one trailer, but...lol

I hope we might get something next week. Like Nehellenia's design and voice actress.

I have a funny feeling that if we do get Happy Meal toys that they'll probably be a Japan only exclusive. Has anyone asked Viz if they're gonna be doing a subbed theatrical release for the Eternal movies?

I love Helios' eyes actually. I must be one of the few who did not mind S3's char designs. S1/S2's eyes were lifeless and not so magical girl-like to me.

That's right... McDonald's does exist in Japan, I had fogotten about that. However, Sailor Moon Happy Meal toys are good sign that they're trying to reach a broader audience now as well. If it does occur that is...

To me, the original 90s series was even catered to older audiences as well, which is why is it has also been so beloved for many years as well. It's fandom has truly stood the test of TIME! Even is Toei's ties with the franchise hasn't always.

Do you think the popularity of Sailor Moon is declining or too low or something? I noticed you often put things like reaching a broader audience in your posts often?
From a strategic standpoint it wouldn't be so bad, I want future anime projects to happen and the movies to be successful. I'm wishful and hope we get more from Toei. Crystal didn't appeal or do too well though in sales unfortunately. To garner more success, bigger strategies have to happen to guarantee continuity for this franchise. I'm looking at this from a business standpoint is all.

Yeah, it was definitely catered to an older audience as well. It was originally aired in prime-time, therefore it was also supposed to catch the eye of kids' parents.

Sailor Moon’s popularity is not declining—Sailor Moon is as popular now as it was in the 90s (the first episode of Crystal earned over one million views in two days of streaming on niconico). However, people won’t watch something that doesn’t feel new or is a rehash of something already done. Crystal really doesn‘t add or bring anything new to the franchise; if you have read the manga (and I bet that a lot of people in Japan did), then you have technically “seen” Crystal.

That's what I was thinking. Dragon Ball and Pretty Cure are popular. Dragon Ball has always exciting new adventures and threats and a lot for their fanbase to really share. I'd really like in the future for at least some of those musicals or anything new to come from Sailor Moon.

I wonder would the fanbase be ready for a Sailor Moon series were Usagi is actually the Queen and Chibi-Usa was the new Sailor Moon? I wonder how much of an uproar their would be (and tears) if Usagi ended up like her mother and Chibi-Usa vowed for revenge.
