Crystal's biggest problem has always been it's pacing, and shafting characters who aren't Usagi, Chibiusa, and Mamoru. It's the same problem the manga had -- the characters are reason people remember Sailor Moon to this day and Crystal doesn't respect that by trying to fix the manga's flaws when they had the perfect opportunity.
The first two seasons made it even worse by watering down all humor and making the characters less expressive because apparently showing too much emotion is ~unelegant~. That was yet another thing that spat in the face of what made Sailor Moon popular, the fact that these were normal teenage girls that readers and viewers could relate to.
It's not about it being different from the 90's anime, because if it was the musicals wouldn't be so popular. Implying the fans in SM's native country are somehow ignorant or 90's anime purists for not liking Crystal and saying that their comments on Eternal won't mean anything is messed up tbh.

But I think I know what might be implied by the "comments might not mean anything", big companies normally are not your friends and only care about profit.
