So Sailor Moon SuperS gets a lot of flack and I understand. But am I the only one love the anime version of the Amazoness Quarter. Are they the saving grace, the one possitive about SuperS, I think so, at the very least one of the positives.

I wish it was revealed they were Sailor Guardians of the future like in the manga, but still it was hinted they and Chibiusa had an unspoken bond.

The Amazoness Quartet are some of my favorite villains in the anime. I feel like they all have unique defining personalities and experience a lot of growth and character development over the course of the story. I also like they all have their own unique powers and monsters and they all seem to get an equal amount of screentime. I think PallaPalla is my favorite of the Quartet. I love that she can act cute and innocent but she has a darker sadistic side to her as well.

Does PallaPalla have the biggest chest size? She is the most childlike I would find the most ironic is the most physically developped of them all. Than again JunJun the tom boy could also fit that description, a common trope is the tom boy has the biggest brest among her peers.Look no further than Makato as an example.

Not when the Amazon Trio exists.
But I do enjoy the Quartet in the anime, their Peter Pan-ish conflict is pretty deep, although it was not fleshed out properly. Palla Palla is my favorite, she's like the Bubbles of the group.

Well the Amazon Trio are fine, but their story went on too long.

Speaking of Peter Pan-ish cnflict, you agree with me that is a good counter to Chibiusa want to grow up complex in the Black Moon arc in the manga. I think it would be great balence of one party wants to grow up too fast (than again 900 years that might be long enough) while the other party doesn't want to grow up at all.

I definitely agree. I actually love SuperS as a season, it is one of my favourites, but I prefer the Amazon Quartet arc by far. They're wonderfully dynamic and just...interesting. I love their redemption in the end as well, I have a soft spot for that kind of thing.

My favourite episode would have to be the coming of age one. When the senshi and quartet work together, it almost eludes to the fact that they aren't truly bad guys.

I haven't gotten to the Dream Arc the manga yet so I can't really compare (I'm hopeful that that part will be good, I do kind of like the manga but I've had a hard time getting nearly as invested and in love with it as I have the anime).

But that being said, the Quartet are a lot of fun. PallaPalla is especially funny. VesVes and JunJun are cool too. I found CereCere a little insulting when she's trying to go after a starving artist by lording his need for food and shelter over him, but I liked her in the longer run. Also, their episodes moved at a much better pace than the beginning of the season and seemed to mix things up more and come to a bigger conclusion.

They were also delightfully spooky when they were looking casually through piles of dream mirrors with lifeless bodies scattered all around. SuperS actually has some pretty nice horror imagery, even if it's not as focused on as in S. Especially....
Spoiler: show
that Zirconia chestburster coming out of mangled old lady Nehellenia. Wow, that is some imagery!

I don't hate the Trio as much as most, but it was definitely the trio's segment of the season that brought it down. I think the main problem with those episodes was that they stuck to a very rigid and unpleasant formula- in order to truly be well written characters, the Trio would've needed to start fleshing out their backstory and rethinking their lives much sooner instead of all at once at the last minute and mostly only due to Fisheye alone figuring any of it out. Basically, I think they had two good episodes right at the end, preceded by 19 frustrating, extremely uncomfortable, and repetitive episodes.

But the Quartet part of the season is pretty solid. I would've loved to see them again in Sailor Stars, and as I learn more about the manga, one of my biggest complains about my beloved anime continuity is that they left out the Asteroid Senshi, but even so, I think they were cool characters as it is, the highlight of the season and one of the memorable parts of the show as a whole.

...but I also love every season, and I put Nephrite on a chocolate-scented golden pedestal of greatness shaped like swords and ferraris, so yeah.

I love the Quartet! They are fun in both the manga and the anime. I sincerely wish their anime run had been longer. I really enjoy the Trio but I feel the season needed a little more balance. It would have been nice if they had returned in Stars as Senshi.
