Both use the same masters and Australia has the English credits for both the movie & special.

Yes to the credits, they're only in English if you buy it digitally but they're in Japanese on the discs.

As for the HD source, I would say yes they did because, and for those claiming it was all Toei, Toei hasn't used THAT much DNR for movies since the 3 Galaxy Express 999 films for the 2009 Blu-ray box set. Almost every other movie release of theirs have been better in comparison (and I say almost because the only other exception is with some of the Digimon movies as seen here).

I would say to wait for the Japanese release to come out to see if there's any differences in video quality but that probably won't happen for a while with the series getting released over there right now.

I'm pretty sure the DNR was applied by Toei. I mean we've seen from Viz's TV release that they don't really know how to apply DNR properly LOL plus Toei's upscale of the TV series sees about the same amount of DNR as the Sailor Moon R movie BD

I saw that on Facebook last night! A friend of mine is going, so I might check it out. We do International Sailor Moon Day in Philadelphia, but it's always poorly organized and way out in the middle of nowhere.

I dont know if this has been brought up already, but you can tell that the characters on the US cover art is clearly somthing you see on merchandise from Great Eastern. Just look at this artwork for Tuxedo Mask, it's the same on the R cover, except it's flipped and his arm is moved down.

It seems there still isn't any news on the dub for the S movie even though the S season for both the 90's anime and Crystal has already been dubbed and released by VIZ. It would have been perfect to release in theatres around Christmas time but once again VIZ dropped the ball with that and it's anyone's guess when the S movie will be dubbed and released.

Are you sure it’s trouble on Viz’s end, and not Toei’s?

Considering all the previous missteps VIZ had with Sailor Moon so far I think it's a safe bet to say it's VIZ screwing up again.

Why would she think it's a modestly big name TV/film actor who doesn't do cartoon voice roles (barring one episode of Robot Chicken), let alone any anime ever?

Yeah I was really hope for the Sailor Moon S movie dub to be released around this Christmas it was definitely a missed opportunity for Viz/Toei.

I certainly hope they don't wait all the way till the future Christmas to release it. I mean I want them to have a quality product but they just released all of S the series. They should release S the movie soon.
