"Mamoru" is not a difficult name to pronounce for a native English speaker. If you watch any (Japanese) version of Sailor Moon, you're going to hear "Mamoru" said dozens of times, so there's really no excuse for any English fans to mispronounce it. (Not that people need to be rude about it, but if someone keeps mispronouncing it after being corrected repeatedly, that's going to get frustrating after a while.)

Well to me, princess is easy to pronounce, but I don't attack a Japanese person for saying it wrong. And they say it a fair amount of times on the show too. It's a double standard for sure.

Princess isn't easy for a Japanese person to say though because there's no "pr" sound or plain "s" sound.

Well the way they pronounce r (or more accurately in this case, ru) is a sound that doesn't exist in English either. Not to mention it's instinctive for an English speaker to put the emphasis in the middle of most words. (Ironically "emphasis" not being an example of that xD)

My point is no one should get attacked, which I don't think is unreasonable.

If Neo Queen Serenity had the power to revive Sailor Pluto, why didn’t she just say so to her poor grieving daughter? Is Neo Queen Serenity basically an asshole?
Seeing as she also didn't tell them/know about Saturn being a reset button and left her sleeping in her planet maybe she feared some of the other senshi's potential. But maybe she also didn't know, like with Saturn.

One thing I've been seeing about people complaining about the DiC dub nowadays that I think is kinda funny is about how Usagi being named Serena is a spoiler for the moon princess. I mean, I dunno. Sailor Moon. Moon princess. Like. Was it that hard for the viewers to guess? Haha.

Not to mention that even if you didn't guess, the Japanese one spoils it too because the Princess Moon ending theme and the new opening theme featuring her as Serenity starts before that episode plays, and pretty much every episode title in the series spoils the events of an episode. Like the one that is literally called "Saphir Dies: Wiseman's Trap" which left me feeling like "... well thanks a lot." XD Almost don't even have to watch the episode anymore at that point haha. :)

Now if they just don't like the name Serena that's fair enough, I won't criticize something subjective like that, but to complain about it being a spoiler is super silly.

(Besides, nowadays you have to put in real effort to even watch the DiC dub, it's far easier to find the sub or Viz dub, but I digress)

Yes agreed! Or the concept of there being a burst of energy as she transforms and utilizing it to teleport. Would've been cool if we saw more things like that.

Would be cool if a storm starts when Jupiter transforms, or a loving dreamy vibe field of effect after Venus transforms etc. Lots of possibilities that would've been kinda neat to explore. :)
Though hopefully nothing spontaneously combusts after Mars transforms. Eep. Though since she also represents war maybe she too could have a field of effect that increases her allies' fighting spirit or something.

Can someone explain the Outers' lip rod designs? I don't understand why Neptune's is a crescent moon, for instance, or why Pluto's is a sphere with a smaller sphere on either side. Are they just random designs the animators thought would look cool and it's not that deep, or is there some significance that I'm just not picking up?

What happened to the students (and any remaining faculty members) of Mugen Academy after the end of S/Infinity? Their principal (Kaolinite) is dead, their president and founder (Tomoe) is either dead or convalescing, and the school itself was either completely destroyed or sustained massive damage. Do you think someone took over the school and had it rebuilt/repaired? Were the students able to transfer to other schools? What if their transcripts were destroyed? (In the manga Haruka and Michiru were able to transfer (back) to Juuban High after spending six months traveling around Europe and Africa, so perhaps in the manga all the other students managed to transfer too?)

Yeah they probably all transferred.

In the anime verse I'd like to know what happened to Tomoe lol. In the first episode of Stars, Setsuna goes and takes Hotaru from him and then he's never seen or heard from again. Even on the finale Hotaru rode off with the outers, and I kinda felt like what about your dad? Lol.

I realize in the manga he was dead, but in the anime he was alive so I would've liked to see him again even if it was just Hotaru being dropped off at his place again.

My assumption is that after Hotaru gained her memories, she kept visiting her dad whenever she could. They just didn't show it as it wasn't relevant to the plot.

Hopefully. I couldn't help thinking 'maybe Pluto killed him' lol. It felt weird to me that he was never seen or mentioned again and was happy to refer to Haruka and Michiru as a mother and father like she did in the manga despite having a living and loving father in the anime lol

But I would like to think she visited him and returned to him after the crisis was over.

Either way though, I found it terribly sad he missed out on so much of her growing up. Even with it being super sped up, I'm sure he would've preferred that over missing out entirely. The first time around he was possessed, so really he missed out then too since he was too busy being crazy and evil.

I loved that he got to live in the anime, but he still got extremely short changed anyway in the end.

Since, at this point, Crystal has pretty much devolved (or evolved, depending on your point of view) into a '90s nostalgia cash grab, I think Toei would have been better off just doing a single film sequel to the original anime. The Special Act could easily have been reworked into a '90s anime film - just replace Mio with Mimete, problem solved.

This is more of a random observation, but it's so trivial, it doesn't merit its own thread. I know someone else wrote a previous post about this, but I can't find it and I can't remember who wrote it, so I'm just going to add it here in my own post because it's not thread worthy.

Even though the Black Moon Clan and the Dead Moon Circus are two different groups, due to their similar names and some similar aesthetics (use of mirrors in the anime, both having a base in a planet), it's easy to link the two. However, if you take the manga version of the Black Moon Clan and the anime version of the Dead Moon Circus, it seems as if they had opposite goals.

For good or for ill the Black Moon Clan was a death cult in the manga. They weren't just invaders but actively preached death, something that manifested in just about each and every member, to the point where manga Demande was willing to possibly cause the destruction of the entire universe.

Yet in the anime, at least, Nehellenia's goal is literally the opposite. She wants to be forever young and beautiful and she recruits the Amazoness Quartet with the promise of never having to grow old. She wants to live forever young and beautiful.

It's just fitting that these villain groups are in essence mirrors of the other.

Pluto reincarnates as human, but she can’t be human in the Black Moon arc, that’s my understanding.

She is an entity.

I also think the manga suggests she loves King Endymion.

It would have been great if Crystal had developed Pluto x King Endymion, but adding depth to the relationship or to Pluto’s feelings. Not like they did with the senshi x shitennou.
