I have been a fan of Sailor Moon for 18 years. I love the fandom and the fans a lot but there is one thing that I saw on social media and for the protection, I'm not going to say anyone's names. However, I saw a person who claims to be this big fan and was also a fan of other anime too. However, she/he was posting extremely offensive comments that were putting down other religions and nationalities. As a long time Sailor Moon fan, I am deeply shocked at what I saw and how can this person call him/herself a Sailor Moon fan when clearly that person is saying just about everything Sailor Moon is highly against. Just about everything in there is the opposite of what she stands for.

"Sailor Moon" is a fictional character. I wouldn't mix up a fictional character with things like politics, national identity, and cultural wars.
Plus, as we know, "Sailor Moon," as a franchise, causes plenty of drama on its own right. For example: "The 90's anime is better than Crystal," "Your opinion doesn't count," "You are not a true fan if you don't like PGSM." The list goes on...
I know people who stopped being friends because of their different opinions on "Sailor Moon" as a franchise --and the irony is that "Sailor Moon" is an anime that emphasizes the importance of friendship and team work.

You probably ran into a group of trolls known as the Anime Right. It's basically an alt-right group which tweets out anime memes which can range from anime girls with MAGA hats to Nazi fetish pictures and Jewish caricatures. If you tweet a lot of anime and politics at the same time you might get mixed up with these trolls, in fact I ran into this problem a long time ago and had to cancel my 1K follower Twitter account.
Also, because of the Anime Right, a lot of innocent Twitter users are now being generalized and suspended just because they have an anime avatar and tweet political or religious content at the same time as anime, including Democrats and non-extreme Republicans.
Be careful who you associate with on social media, there are extremists in our world, and with the Internet a lot of people who you'd never guess would be extremists in real life would start tweeting hateful stuff. I follow a lot of politics on Twitter, and if I run into a bad bunch by mistake, I always say "I believe in your free speech rights, so I won't report you, but I don't want to be associated with your views so I will block you." I think that's the best way to handle things.

Well i have heard of the so called “anime right” and many of them do not take themselves seriously if you look at what they say. This person was not exactly anime right but had a little bit of similarities. Still, yeah, I would avoid such people.
The person did not mention anything that involved race directly but was mentioning bad things about immigration, which can easily be seen as racist depending how you were to see his or her posts.

In case you forgot it, Sailor Moon built a dictatorship society, murdering all her political opponents across the world and denying everybody who dared to disagree with her rule the right to live on the same planet. She was murdering illegal immigrants (youma, lemures, you name it) just because they were different. Yes, some of them were draining energy and doing other nasty things, much like some illegal immigrants are littering streets and shoplifting in our world. Sailor Moon's solution to the immigrant problem? Murdering them on the spot, no need for trial, no need for court order, no need for deportation. That's what Sailor Moon stands for.
So it makes perfect sense if Sailor Moon fans are as racist and intolerant as their idol.

Again, this was something I saw on my Facebook. I did see another person on there and I chatted with him and he told me that all of the main characters are basically foreigners to Earth and that some of the bad guys are also from Earth and yes he is right, some of them were. As for Twitter, I haven’t used that in ages, also because of trolls.
