OK probably a little way off in the future but

1) Who do you think should play the VA's for the Starlights - are the original VA's still alive / working? - I hope to god they don't get Momoire Clover to do it...if anything they need like Takarazuka actresses who can sing AND do the male voices.

2) Do you think they'll keep the songs from the old anime ? - I've not read Stars Manga yet are the song lyrics etc taken from the manga or completely original ?

Doubtful we'll get Mitsuko Horie back as Galaxia so here's hoping she'll at least return for one more song.

Oh, and I expect more remixes and hopefully like Dream that they're better than the Anniversary tribute versions.

Galaxia will sound like a granny if Horie gets recast.

I am sure we are getting brand new voice actors as it has been the norm. And tons of them. I hope they finally cast someone as creepy as Mamiko Notto for Mnemosyne and Letha. I am way more excited about the Animamates and couldn't care less about the Sailor Stars. If had to rewrite the story only Yaten would make it so he can bring Kakyuu and her manga death better make it as is on the screen.

OK well pleaaaasssee pleasseeee let the Starlights NOT be Momoire...umm they can't do the male sounding voices plus it would be so much of a give in to commercialism.

Well, we all heard her singing season 3 OP... Her voice has definitely aged a lot.
Singing and acting is not the same.

In France, you have many comedians who are 80 years old, who still double and the voice is perfect despite their age.
For me, she might just make a Galaxia of the same quality as the 90 series.

Actually what would sold the Stars adaptation for me would be Sailor Wars version for a main theme. By Crystal Cast, no MomoClo....

She is only 63 years old. And at 63, an actress can still modulate her voice, that's the talent.
Well, as I said previously, I work in the dubbing industry in my country, and everytime someone did cast an elder to voice an young woman, it was a trainwreck. Being an actor doesn't prevent your voice to sound old.

Are they voicing young adults like Galaxia? That's the point.

Me, I prefer that they'd somehow use the final battle theme to be La Soldier on Sailor Moon/Cosmos vs Chaos. To me honestly, La Soldier always felt like a grand finale battle anthem. Just saying

I actually prefer Kotono Mitsuishi‘s voice in Crystal than in the 90’s anime.

Kotono literally stole the show when Usagi transitioned to Princess Serenity (Act 9). When Kunzite and Beryl disappear with Mamoru and and Kotono shouts “Mamo-chaaan!” I get chills.

Act 9 is sad—depressing—and fearfully amazing.

She is only 63 years old.
You mean already 63 (soon to be 64)?
For a human being, 63 definitely isn't only anymore.

And I actually heard Horie back in 2015 when I was marathoning Saint Seiya anime franchise - there was a difference between her Polaris Hilda in original series, and how she sounded in Soul of Gold.

Anyway, the one I would choose for Galaxia in Crystal would be Megumi Hayashibara - even though she too isn't young anymore, she can still voice convincingly younger (looking) characters, and, IMO, despite her having that one role of Himeko Nayotake, it always felt weird to me that she didn't get some bigger role in main series, what with her being arguably the Queen of 90s anime.

For what is worth, it is weird that she didn't get to voice one of the Senshi, if you ask me.

Overall it would have been nice connection to 90s, and somehow going full circle.

I would like Chiwa Saito, the one who voiced Homura Akemi as Galaxia.
