Is there anything in the translation notes about why the translator kept the honorifics? Just curious.
Not really; just explanations about how some honorifics like -san and -chan are used.

It seems like Amazon isn't directly selling copies right now (you can only order via third party sellers). I wonder if they got lots of complaints about damaged books and are now reviewing their stock?

That's possible. It's also possible they just sold out because it's listed as a #1 bestseller for romance/shoujo manga right now.

I don't think it's a problem with their stock. It's definitely a problem with how they ship their products. Amazon uses really flimsy envelopes here in the USA; Amazon.co.jp, on the other hand, always protects their packages appropriately.

Oh, this looks and reads so much better. To me, "Evil spirit, be gone!" sounds more natural than "be exorcised!" anyway, but it's no big deal either way. I do prefer "Legendary Silver Crystal," even if "Mystical" is alright too.

I pray to Queen Serenity that Sailor V gets this treatment too.

And those translation notes are HIL-AIR-EE-US! XDDD

They're funny but I wonder how necessary they actually are? Discs/CDs aren't some unheard-of technology -- we still have disc-based video game consoles. Video rental places are definitely a thing of the past here in the USA even if there are a few holdouts left in some places, but I would imagine a kid would be able to pick up on it by hearing their parents talk about it or something.

Unless they're just meant to be tongue-in-cheek?

It could be that they've sold out, but my order from Walmart was well-packed in a sturdy box and still was damaged, so I think the issue may lie with the stock and not how it's shipped.

It looks so nice. Too bad Kodansha keeps using honorifics in their mangas, taking place in Japan, which is 90 percent cathalogue

Pretty much this, while I can't speak for damaged products on my end (except for one Code Geass DVD but that was 9 years ago), I have seen so many people complain over Amazon US' shipping in recent years that it's ridiculous plus for some new stuff, they tend to ship them out days or weeks AFTER release date. This has been a problem for me with Shout's Super Sentai DVD sets since Dairanger and although I'm not a Prime member, I have seen people at places like RangerBoard and the Blu-ray Forums, who do have Prime, complain about this as well.

They also pick and choose who they want to use so if a package gets shipped, it's important to find out through where because, at least in my case, they will either send it through USPS (under "FedEx Smartpost" or "UPS Smartpost") or handle it themselves under Amazon Logistics (Amzn_L) or send it though a company called Lasership (this happened once with me in 2014 and I had to get a refund because it never came while they claimed it was "delivered").

For me, they've sent expensive boxsets in yellow bubble mailers, but recently they sent a pair of earbuds and a small wire mixing ball (for a water bottle) in a cardboard box. O.o Can't say I've had anything damaged by them before. I remember when they used to shrinkwrap everything to a piece of cardboard and nothing would ever get damaged. When I ordered like a dozen Blu-rays for Black Friday, they just threw them all in a box with no support. Every once in a while, I do get the old method though...

Still waiting on mine.

Amazon Australia had my pre-order since January and told me it would be with me on the 13th-14th. After the 14th came and went without it even being posted and it's delivery date changed to "pending", I called them up and they admitted they didn't have it in stock and didn't know why. I cancelled my order though she did give me a $10 voucher for my frustration. I've ordered from somewhere else and it should be here next week. Someone I know who kept their pre-order with Amazon Australia said they finally moved his delivery date to the middle of October.

I still think these are too big, but it's a very nice premium product. The only odd translation problems I had was Sailor Moon's intro speech. Too awkward.

Yeah, I hate "water and intellect" and the way they break up their speeches into SO. MANY. sentences beginning with "I am." Plus, using both "guardian" and "soldier" is inconsistent. Pick one and stick to it. A simple "I'm the sailor-suited pretty guardian of love and justice, Sailor Moon! In the name of the moon, I'll punish you!" would have been so much better.

I don't really see it that way. To me, it's more of a loving nod to a prior term they're not allowed to use anymore. It's possible they won't use it after the beginning arc, but if they do then I'm not worried. Guardian is the translation of senshi they're going with as all the others describe themselves as guardians.

My copy's come in...
If the eternal edition is going to use all the same terms from the bilingual edition then:

Moon Stick = Moon Wand
Legendary Silver Crystal = Mystical Silver Crystal
Four Kings of Heaven = Four Heavenly Kings
Royal Chocolate = Princess Cake
Hikawa Shrine = Hikawa Jinja
Miko = Shinto Priestess
Evil Spirit, Be Exorcised! = Evil Spirit, Begone!
And I can confirm that these changes are all in the eternal edition.
