I don't want to get off topic, but I had no idea they redubbed Evangelion for Netflix!! I wonder what that will mean for the Funimation dub of Evangelion 4.44 (hopefully nothing) and what it'll mean for a future Blu-Ray release of Evangelion!!
There's a thread about it here but basically, it got redubbed in all countries outside of Japan and with the English dub, some of the old cast confirmed that they weren't coming back.

As for FUNi, it's hard to say on 4.44 but I'm sure the mess over 3.33's delay and Gen Fukunaga's crying over Netflix getting the original show and films didn't help matters if Japan got word of what he said about it.

Wasn't that the person who actually preferred the Ocean Dub of Dragon Ball Z to the Funi dub? If so, I'm surprised he'd hate the DIC dub so much to attack the people who like it.

By the way, my mutation allows me to get more powerful the more I'm attacked.

I prefer camp to snooze.
It was also, like, decades ago.
Sailor Moon was created, like, decades ago.

I mean...the Ocean and Funi dubs used close to the exact same scripts not least of which because Funimation and Ocean started out with a Dic/Optimum relationship and even when Funimation took over the dubbing at their own studio they brought on the Ocean voice for Krillin (Terry Klassen) and one of the other Ocean actors (Ward Perry I think?) as writers.

And as far as acting I prefer most of the Ocean cast myself. And neither had a good replacement score Funimation was too try hard and Ocean just recycled derpy Megaman music. People like to rag on Dic’s replacement score but it’s vastly superior to most replacement dub scores.

The current redub isn't.

Have you seen Galaxia? She's super campy. Being sinister and being campy aren't mutually exclusive.
Galaxia is all business. She's ruthless and doesn't fool around.

The 90s Sailor Moon anime honestly had very few main villains that would be described as "campy". The monster-of-the-day? Definitely most of those, especially as the series went on. But of the main villains? There was only...
  • Zoisite
  • Esmeraude
  • Professor Tomoe
  • Eudial (arguably)
  • Mimete
  • Tiger's Eye
  • Hawk's Eye
  • Fisheye
  • Sailor Aluminum Seiren (arguably)
That's not a whole lot compared to the number of other main villains the series had who weren't campy.

...We're talking about a series centered around teenage girls in Sailor Suits fighting enemies named after minerals. The whole thing is campy.

And as far as Galaxia goes, she wears an all golden outfit and laughs at her own boasts.

I'm not a native English speaker, I tried looking it up but I still can't get what "campy" means. Exaggerated? Bizarre?

Never denied Usagi-tachi or the series' premise being campy. ;)

A featureless blank space surrounded by a starry void with only a throne in the center representing Galaxia's desire to become the sole existing power and authority in a galaxy devoid of life.

A corrupted take on the established Sailor Senshi uniform for purposes of dramatic irony, clad in metallic armor befitting a legendary soldier of war, and colored gold as a visual illustration of Galaxia's ego and sheer power (gold is often used a color to represent ultimate power in anime).

Long flowing hair pulled back into her headdress for practical purposes appropriate for combat scenarios, as she is the Legendary Sailor Soldier who ended the Sailor Wars.

Yeah.... You're continuing to not understand what camp is, so I'm not gonna keep debating this with you.

It's hard to define precisely what "camp" entails, but generally it does involve being a little ridiculous and over-the-top. The old "Batman" show from the 1960s is a good example of "camp," as are the films of John Waters.

Just got through watching the first episode...

:( I am not digging Galaxia's voice...it...doesn't suit her AT ALL...

Also, I haven't watched the dub very much (just a handful of episodes, and the movies..I am just NOT a fan, but if you must know I am not a fan of the original dub either so..)...and....some of the acting is just so........lackluster.....no real emotion in it...is it just me?! Or is this dub really.....really REALLY lackluster...I can't believe I am saying this as much as I hated the DIC and Cloverway dub...at least the ACTING was good...even with it's cringy dialogue

I hope you won't get me wrong, but I find everything dubbed in English off (I mean foreign production, not cartoons etc). I have seen some stuff dubbed like Ouran Host Club, because the jokes were adapted way better than the subbed version and I dig they way some shows are scripted, but the acting feels just off. It might partially be because I am not a native speaker, but I don't speak German at all and I love their dubs and the voices. I explain it to myself it is because most movies and tv shows are in English to begin with and English-speaking side just doesn't have to do so much dubbing, and certainly not to the extent some other countries do. It is the same as English subtitles, as you hardly need to make them, they don't really comply to some of the rules in official subbing. It gets the job done, after all.
