Well, has Naoko really ever been big on the anime compared other adaptations like the musicals? In any case, it's her creation and whatever she wishes it must be so. In some way I can feel her plight. Companies would probably butchers it to shreds....but perhaps she was never that much into the anime to begin with. Might be her Ami-chan creeping out.

We all know how nasty and controlling companies can get though. Everyone has been saying for a long time it was because Toei and Naoko weren't seeing eye to eye...

Maybe that's why Suite and Yes Pretty Cure remind me of it but ..to bring back Usagi's VA and not the others..hmm

I cannot agree with that - Pretty Cure is original idea that can be milked and changed, and prolonged forever. Toei have every reason to keep it on top. If they wanted to make Sailor Moon a show similar to Pretty Cure in tone, even if Naoko agreed they still don't have an interest doing it - she can always tellthemthat is enough. she would still have the saying, it is not their own, so they have no interest to let it outshine Pretty Cure. And I really cannot agree that many fans of the franchise would have liked it as something similar to PreCure, and if they cared for new fans only, they didn't need Sailor Moon name to a show anyway.

Precure is not an original idea. TOEI has been producing magical girl shows similar to Procure as early as the early-80s (for example, Magical Chinese Girl Pai Pai and Bishoujo Kamen Poitrine). All of these shows consist of high schools fighting monsters and thieves while having to conceal their human identities.

Much like the magical girl shows that TOEI produced in the 80s or other TOEI properties, such as Saint Seiya, Sailor Moon can be milked and changed, and extended forever.

Naoko just said "no" to TOEI. While I cannot factually prove it, I am convinced that she did.

Just look at "Saint Seiya," a TOEI anime from the 80s, and all of its films and spin-offs. TOEI asked. The creator of "Saint Seiya" said "yes, sure, why not?" I doubt TOEI wouldn't extend the courtesy to Naoko Takeuchi before creating a series to compete with her own.

What i mean by original is their own, not original as content. This is the magical girl formula that worked after Sailor Moon, still does and it belongs to Toei exclusively. Ths is what I meant. There is no one to control Toei and they can do with it. Pretty cure has no origial creator for toei to deal with, they wouldn’t try replacing it.

Clow meant the exact opposite of what you are suggesting he meant. He meant Toei probably wanted Precure to replace Sailor Moon as their main magical girl franchise, not the other way around.

I wasn't arguijg with him, just saying when Crysral was planned i 2013 I doubt they wanted to rival Precure with it so the rumors tey wanted to mae it similar to it makes no sense.

With Dragon Ball Super movie looming on the horizon, wishing that there are any information about Sailor Moon is futile. Sailor Moon series is one of many series back then that make a golden age for Toei, they will not abaddon it, the problem is time. Well cast it aside, what i fear is do they release two movie in theatre format or they just making OVAs and sell DVD/Bluray Disk

Well that mean we will watch the first movie cover the first half of the arc with a cliffhanger, and then waiting for a very good long time to see the second movie cover the second half of the arc. i don't think Toei will complete two movie and then release them in theatre, they probably just make the first movie, release it and then make the second movie

Sure, I doubt they work on them back to back. Still I'd rather have 6 episodes and wait between the films than waiting one year for the film to be released on blu ray and dvd, and then another one or more for the second one. Japan is very slow on releasing movies on blu-ray,.

i think we will have some information in the middle of 2019, i just hope that Toei release the first movie in late 2019. Toei is a big company, they handle many series with weekly episodic format at the same time, it make no sense if they can't handle just another two movies

Sure they have to announce something for Usagi's birthday in June, but considering the fact we still know anything about the films and they usually release promo material at least 5-6 months before the premier, I won't be surprised if they release it early 2020, so people outside Japan won't see it till later part of 2020 or even 2021. Maybe USA fans will see some screens but the rest of us will wait for ages.

Though this might sound slightly off topic, what do you think a Sailor Moon movie crossing over with this anime (the Saint Seiya Saintia Sho anime coming in three days) would be like:
