Mine
1. Promise of Rose - So emotional, and great story. Plus, music is so addictive!
2. Ami's first Love - We can see much more personalities of Ami, plus it is so fun
3. Black Dream Hole - Cute characters, fun adventures, and also not so bad story, too!
4. Princess Kaguya's Lover - Terrible remake of original manga. Plus, Luna is never helpful at all

My order is slightly different...

1. Nasa/Beauty & the Beast - I like the reality/magic cross-over and the triangle of unrequited love, I don't like the snow queen(s)/battles though (I agree the manga is still better than the movie)
2. Magical Mr. Mercurious - It keeps you guessing till the end and is hilarious
(tied for 1st place)

3. The Pied Piper of Okashi - Starts out great, the ending was a fizzer

4. Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Did Usagi actually visit Mamo in hospital, When she was just two? - One of the few movies where the more you watch it the less it makes sense and not in a fun way. Yes the asteroid part at the end has awesome effects and music (one of my favourite tracks actually) but even then... why? It feels like a choose your own adventure book where you are keep going down the wrong path and end up at the wrong ending.

I still enjoyed watching all the movies and it's interesting to see everyone's opinions.

Weird fact, I once had dreams I was trapped in a choose your own adventure story, I would keep ending up at the bad ending and waking up - then I would go to bed and have the same dream again, then again, and again. I had some pretty scary nightmares!

Sailor Moon R was my favourite film. I still love it now, but I realize it is basically because of Moon Revenge and like the designs better. S is actually my favourite when it comes to story. I have seen SuperS only a couple of times and not without breaks. I find it boring.

1. Hearts in Ice - As a SciFi Fan and Space Age Enthusiast, this seems inevitable. (Did the Moon Landing of Apollo 11 and Neil Armstrong happen in the Sailorverse?) Also, the Luna Romance was kinda sweet (Almost Diabetes-like).
2. Promise of the Rose - I know that it already had nicer and better Animation compared to the TV Episodes. But no matter how hard I try, I just can't get over this Guy-on-Guy Love between Mamoru and Fiore. Did anybody tell him how this 'Two Genders Thing' works for the Earthlings and that he could probably never have Offsprings with another man (No offense against LBTGQ Forum members meant, of course)? And don't have me started about that partially strange BGM...
3. Black Dream Hole - Seemingly aimed too much at very young children. And somehow it already leaks through here that they wouldn't even bother to do a another Movie for the Stars Season anymore.

Ami's First Love is NOT a Movie and thus runs outside of Competition here. :)

I think I liked the R movie the most due to it's story and it had a nice soundtrack including a slightly different remixed version of DIC's inner scouts theme

Remember how the plot of the R movie was Fiore trying to reproduce with Mamoru?

Yeah, me neither.

I really enjoyed all three personally (rare for me for anime series based films), but R would have to be my favorite. The overall theme of loneliness is something I can relate to, and I really liked that the film focused on Mamoru because the series didn't really do that all that much.

1) SuperS: The Nine Sailor Soldiers Unite! Miracle of the Black Dream Hole
2) S: The Movie
3) R: The Movie

Although the story might not be the best, the animation is great with SuperS (as everyone is pointing out). S and R have their moments, S is a little sappy at times and R to me always seems so short.

Side note.... the DiC/Pioneer whatever names for the movies are HORRIBLE....hearts in ice? ...ok then...

We get it. You hate the original English dub with an obsessive passion. Build a bridge and get over it already
I actually liked the title for the R movie The Promise of the Rose it is rather romantic. I tend to prefer the title for the S movie in the Japanese version The Lover of Princess Kaguya and really the title for the SuperS movie isn't that different in either versions they both refer to the Black Dream Hole.

Pioneer (or maybe Optimum?) DiC had no part other than agreeing to have their music used for the VHS release

Hearts in Ice because the theme is ice and love...what’s wrong with the title? I always liked it.

Promise of the rose is a perfectly apt title for the R movie. Since the catalyst for the plot is Fiore’s promise after Darien gave him a rose.

Black Dream Hole is just an abbreviated less wordy version of the Japanese title.

IDK seems like you’re saying you hate the titles all because of ONE of the three you don’t like

Yeah built the bridge and it broke, sorry :)

Black Hole makes sense. Out of the three DiC is the more tolerable, the voices are good and the music isn't half bad just the censorship and major changes I dislike. I wouldn't choose any of the Pioneer versions as they're atrocious, my votes are based on the original Japanese versions.

You say you think DiC is the best of the original three dubs (being DiC, Pioneer, and CWI). You say the voices are good and the music isn't half bad. You say you just dislike the censorship and major changes. Yet you say the Pioneer versions are atrocious.

The Pioneer dub of the movies used the same voice cast as the DiC dub.
They used DiC's music for the edited VHS release. For the DVD release, they offered an uncut dub that used the original Japanese OST.
They kept all the new characters' original names, not changing any of them
They did not censor or make any significant changes to the story/dialog of any of the films.
They in fact were demonstrably more faithful to the original than the DiC dub was (i.e. using Princess Serenity instead of Princess Serena, using Moon Princess Elimination instead of Moon Scepter Activation, using Evil Spirits Disperse instead of Mars Fireballs Charge)

So... How exactly was the Pioneer dub so "atrocious"?
