Minako's crazy mom and Makoto's parents. It is very odd we never get a glimpse on Minako's family, although there were episodes taking place at her house. Makoto's parents are dead, so it is understandable, but I wish we got some flashbacks.

:ami:'s father the travelling artist. I'm quite surprised that's not an option in the survey.
I limited the options to parents who are implied to exist but never explicitly mentioned. We never get to meet Ami's father (or Rei's) in person (at least, not in the anime or manga), but we do get vague glimpses of them and learn a thing or two about them, so they're not total mysteries. They fall into the "Other (Please specify)" option. :)

We saw Rei's father and mother in the manga.

Without a shadow of a doubt, I'd like to know more about Endymion's parents (as well as the parents of all the other Silver Millennium-era royalty). Once upon a time, I had some really crazy ideas (based on the old dub) about who they were, but it is odd that we do not get any information about the parents of this man who would be the ruler of the Earth Kingdom. What did they think of this star-crossed romance? Did they teach him to follow in their footsteps? Were they also corrupted by Metalia, did they die? Heck, did Endymion even have any brothers or sisters?

I long for a story about how Rei's mother worked to her death. I wish the enemy used this in Dream to torment her but the spirit of her mother encourages her and Rei breaks the illusion.

Makoto's parents. We're they rich? How is Makoto able to afford a place on her own at such a young age? Inheritance?

Setsuna? Has she ever had parents mentioned?

Luna and Artemis.

I'm curious to know if Galaxia had parents and if she did, did she kill them?

Considering the area they are all living in, it looks like they are all quite wealthy. For Makoto to live in such an area, together with jewelry shop owners, trendy reporters, renowned doctors and politician daughters..." I wonder what herparents were? Actress and a stuntman. :D

Not exactly on topic, but Rei's grandma - wonder how she'd interact w/ her hubby, especially when the latter was chasing after young girls/women.
I guess Rei comes from a family where females do not live long. Her mother died at her prime and I assume her mother, Rei's grandmother died as well as she was never mentioned and Grandpa Hino is mathernal grandfather to Rei. Speaking of him, why his character got obliterated in both Crystal and the live action. I can get it for Crystal, but the live action had a lot of filler and all to include him.

That makes sense, but I still wish she was alive for the reason I mentioned above. lol

He could look & behave in even more hilarious ways in PGSM than in the anime if they could find a suitable actor to play him, especially when considering Minako's manager in the show. :oh:

Grandpa Hino's name suggests he's Rei's paternal grandfather, and I think he may even have been described as such at one point, though initially he's referred to as her maternal grandfather. He and Pluto must come from the same inconsistent universe

There is a whole debacle as why he shares the same family name as her father. It is very inconsistent. I remember it was the same for Ami's mom, keeping the same name despite the divorce. Although it is not uncommon for doctors to keep the surname they are known for. The grandpa even in Cassablanca memories behave refers to Rei's parents very formal. Like some distant relative.

It’s not uncommon for women who get divorced to keep their surname from when they got married period.

I know many women who after a divorce don’t bother to go through the process of going back to their maiden name because it’s too much of a pain in the ass.

I can’t imagine it’s any easier in Japan.

ETA: Do we know Ami’s fathers surname? It’s possible her mom did go back to being a Mizuno and Ami followed suit because she lives with her.

I think it was stated somewhere that her father is Mizuno. But I have to check again. Still the main argument is about Rei.

I'm not sure which one but in any case I wouldn't want to meet any of them more than once because then we would have too many characters in a show that already has loads and loads of characters....just saying.

I guess Makoto's and Setsuna's so at least we would get an idea of what kind of background they come from. We know a little bit about everyone else's family and background and in the case of Haruka and Michiru at least we know they are wealthy.

Maybe coincidentally the original surname of Rei's mom is also Hino. lol

Now that I think about it, has they referred to grandpa Hino as Hino in the manga? I have a feeling this is to do with the old show and even then I am not sure wether they ever said Grandpa Hino. Needs to be checked. I think he has always been refered to as Rei's grandfather, so it might be entierly on the fanbase and wrong translation.
