As much as I like(d) Crystal, I agree with you. I'll watch the Dream movies when they're out but I think we've all learned not to check the Internet daily for Crystal news since around 2014, lmao. I'm looking forward to seeing Dream and hopefully Stars, but in the meantime, I'm going to look forward to other aspects of the SM franchise. It just seems pointless to focus on Crystal as fans right now -- the first three seasons are out, we know more of the story is coming, news will be out when it's out. Like Rika said, this fandom is used to waiting.
I'll be excited if it ever comes out and I'll gladly watch it then but I just have so many other anime shows I watch and other interests I have to keep me entertained. Sailor Moon is a hobby I enjoy but it's not like my whole life revolves around it and it's good in general to keep a healthy balance with other interests so you don't get burned out.

^ So I may amend my last post above to something like "Crystal is just a relatively small part of Sailor Moon, & Sailor Moon is just a relatively small part of your life." lol

They announced the name of Le Mouvement Final at the last Anime Matsuri and the stage show didn't even perform here in America, unless you want to count the recent theater showings. They also announced the release of the perfect manga editions last year as well.

Quite frankly, they are using promotional money to do these appearances so they literally have to promote something when they are here. And considering Chiaki Kon is there too is notable as well. I would be surprised if they didn't announce anything.
Well, I'm just here circling back to say that in light of the Anime Matsuri news, I'm surprised. *sigh*

My experiences in the fandom over the years have taught me this: getting your expectations lower & the odds of getting yourself unpleasantly surprised will become smaller, while the odds of getting yourself pleasantly surprised will become bigger. lol

We only have Toei's word they're supposedly working on it which doesn't count for much. Even if they're working on it now, they could get caught up in production delays even more in another few months or Toei might just decide Crystal isn't profitable for them anymore and put the Dream arc movies on indefinite hiatus.

I seen at Miss Dream's site (don't know if you wanna have this as a reliable source or not) Heard the full thing here Sailor Moon Crystal News, RunRun, and FAQ Updates - Miss Dream

"With that out of the way, we can share the tiny bit of Sailor Moon Crystal news we managed to get from the Q & A panel with Osano Fumio and Chiaki Kon held at Anime Matsuri. They plan to stick to the manga plot, but writing has only just started. Osabu estimates that it might be 1-2 years before the movie is finished. If you would like to view this information being announced please check out @RalateMoon’s twitter post here. Note: The leak about the movie name was NOT confirmed and appears to be false. "

^--- This is very upsetting, but hey better .... late than never ? ....

Writing a screenplay based on a manga shouldn't take that long.
Adapting and condensing a multi-chapter manga arc into two movies that will be understandable by people who haven't already read the source material can be a lot more complicated than it sounds. And if Toei isn't willing to throw the budget at it that it needs, well.

Yeah. A screenplay like that can be challenging as many us that are writers in here know. From what I remember, the Dream manga is crampacked and there are many things that go on in it that need to be properly executed or it will fall flat. For anyone that hasn't read Dream and I'm sure most in here have already so no worries of spoilers ahead...but I'm wondering if this movie adaptation lets them also get away with certain scenes unlike before. We all know that Artemis has a rather violent and nasty outcome in the manga. What I'm curious about is how they will do the Senshi interactions with the Trio in Part One.

For example Mars' dream, the Senshi and their talking weapons all that. I am extremely curious to see how this writer will weave all these happenings in the allotted time if they are "sticking" to the manga. I'm guessing that each Senshi (Mercury, Mars and Jupiter) will get 15 minutes of focused screentime a scene to shine...or they can just do the Toei and put everything together in one big lump..lmbo

I'm so sick & tired of Sailor Moon's treatment. It used to be one of their biggest franchises ever in history and that made them an insane amount of money & now it's like the red-headed step child series.
Me too!

This is what i miss about the old days when anime OVAs used to be really big. The old school OVA format would have allowed for greater control over the time length of an episode than a 24 minute TV format would and OVAs generally tended to get away with a lot less censorship than TV series but the old school OVA format seems to have largely faded away. If Crystal's ratings were too bad for TV, I would prefer them to divide the Dream arc into a series of like 40 minute OVA episodes that would allow them more creative freedom and the ability to show darker content than a TV broadcast but without having to worry about cramming the entire story into a two part movie.

Our lovable Sailor Moon is still pretty big....just not anime wise and I seriously think that is because she needs something new. I love Sailor Moon as much as everyone in here but our Moon Princess needs something new...

I seriously doubt Toei cares how big SM used to be...they are focused on the revenue she is drawing in. Them toys thoys though..The anime was probably supposed to be nothing more than a method to buy more toys.

This have changed a lot from 20 years ago...

TOEI didn't have any trouble adapting "Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary," which was a compressed adaptation of several volumes (not chapters) of the manga. Now, I am not saying that I want TOEI to do to Crystal what it did to Saint Seiya, but it is a fact that TOEI is known for doing such adaptations.

I am in agreement with everybody else that TOEI doesn't care about Sailor Moon.

I'm sure they are. However, that doesn't change the fact that they're complicated to do and require budget, and Toei doesn't seem to be willing to give time or money to the project.
