Poor Bucky ;_; and then after all that Steve went back in time and grew old without him. Now Bucky is all alone. Why didn't Steve take him along? Almost cried over that, felt so bad for Buck. ;_;

I normally like Iron Man a lot, but I was so pissed at him over the Bucky stuff >_>

But yes on topic, I see your analogy. Too bad there couldn't have been like a few episode arc to have her redemption properly.

Why exists this mini arc anyways? Did fans complain?
I see it as Toei trying to "rescue" lost audience.
SuperS made the ratings shrink terribly over its course, and finishing the previous arc with the presence of the Outers, with even Saturn playing a big role, would please the fans that had abandoned the show.
But that apparently didn't work, since Stars was even more of a ratings flop than SuperS.

Honestly I feel like while yes SuperS did scare some people away, but I also feel like it was partly that the popularity amongst "casuals" was beginning to wear off.

Kind of like how for a bit there, pretty much every single person I knew owned a Wii and Wii Sports and went crazy over it for a year or so and then they never touched a video game ever again when it wore off.

Just to clarify this isn't a "real fan" argument as I think that's nonsense, but my point is a bunch of people who joined in on the fun were probably feeling done after a few seasons, and would've stopped anyway.

It always happens with massively popular things, the proverbial honeymoon ends after a while.

It's not even necessary, just let Usagi beat her down before redeeming her, not to let her KILL the other senshi. I'm sure ppl would feel much better about it.

The first SuperS episode was the highest-rated SM episode in Japan ever, so there was big anticipation for it. I believe the main reason for the flop is that people were eager to see more of the Outers and didn't like how the overall more serious tone of S got switched into a more comedic and light-hearted one.

Haha you guys are all like encyclopedias here :) Always learn something whenever I come on the forum.

Yeah the outers are noticeably missing, that's for sure. Definitely a big mistake on their part.

Not just that, the main storyline was pushed very slowly, the main focus was on Chibiusa, who was obviously not enough as the star. The Inner Four didn't get much focus as well. The villains were actually handled quite well, but they are not enough to carry it.

This is true. The villains of Super S are some of the most strange but entertaining. Super S actually had some good fight sequences for some episodes but the way the story dragged in certain parts. The characters in the show all made for a freakish serious season but it just wasn't that at all. Super S also had some great music and some scenes were animated better than even some episodes of Stars imo.

For me, these two fixes would massively improve SuperS for me:

Have Helios always look like Helios. Don't make him be a horse. A lot of creepy scenes wouldn't have been creepy if he wasn't a horse lol.

The biggest though is that F***ING sentence that they repeat OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I was at a point of wanting to just shout at them to shut up with that "always remember not to forget" etc line XD What the actual.
Thank goodness the Trio never said it lol. Of all things, this is my number one complaint. I really like Chibi-Usa, so I'm fine with her being the star. I miss the outers but can live without them. I enjoyed the humor, and found the majority of the filler episodes to be really good (only around 3 I didn't like) but if I hear that sentence ONE MORE TIME, I'll be the next being Usagi will have to defeat lol.

I disagree. Usagi purposely did not attempt to save any of the Witches 5. She probably thinks she killed Eudial, watched as Tellu battled to her last breath, and didn't attempt to save Viluy as she slowly dissolved. She also attempted to kill the Amazoness Quartet in episode 162.

Stars was a mess. I was always angry at the fact it was literally the Starlights show. Having the Inners sacrifice their selves for them was such a smack in the face. And they kept them alive for what? To watch hopelessly as Usagi confronted Galaxia? Not even Chibi Chibi was around for that. They should've had Usagi be the only one left to fight off against Chaos.

The manga did it better. Galaxia was a much more interesting character, and her fate was much more poetic. In the anime she was a two dimensional, rehashed character with a somewhat interesting backstory.
I was shocked seeing Usagi and Inners watching Tellulu (I forgot how to write her name) and Viluy dying emotionlessly. They just stood their and did nothing.
At least, Neptune and Uranus expressed their reaction when Kaolinite is killed.
And then, the concept "Why did you try to save me? I'm your enemy!" came from nowhere since SuperS.
I feel sorry for the team of Dark Kingdom. Were Beryl and Metalia confined in the sparkling globe at the end of Classic?

Tellulu made that plant to take ppl's Pure Heart, she got what she deserved.

Redemption came from both sides, the villain needs to show redeemable quality first, and the situation needs to allow it.

I don't understand how having Galaxia not being redeemed would undermine Usagi's character.Redemption isn't on Usagi.Usagi can still be for giving, and Galaxia could still be evil ?

It's not should she being redeemed or not, more about how it should be handled. Both ways could have been done well.

Or like Esmeraude, she was not redeemed but ppl still feel a bit bad for her.

I agree with that, but it's weird notion..Saying Usagi battering Galaxia would undermine her character.

True, Usagi''s best moments includes her fighting bravely to protect the good ppl.
Like when she made the decision to go rescue Chibi-Usa from Rubeus' UFO. I feel that was one of her best moments in the series, she came so far from clinging onto a telephone pole because she was too scared to go on the disappearing bus.
