We did actually see some conflicts with her in the end especially when Sailor Tin Nyanko sees her unclothed. However I personally like Sailor Galaxia's 90s anime story much more then the manga story where she was just an emo rage child. I liked the idea of her being a strong and valiant soldier whos sacrificed herself to seal Chaos inside her to end the Sailor Wars. Plus I like the inclusion of the Sailor Wars. I honestly don't think the Sailor Wars of the past existed in the manga and as such I much like Sailor Galaxia's story in the 90s anime as opposed to what we got in the manga.

Which honestly when it comes to redemptions I felt that Nehellenia's redemption was more of an asspull then her's. Sailor Galaxia wasn't even responsible for Chaos twisting her mind and did so to end the Sailor Wars where as Nehellenia was basically Elizabeth Bathory.

The legendary senshi in the manga is Sailor Moon/Sailor Cosmos.

I wouldn't say Sailor Cosmos is the legendary Sailor Senshi atleast not one known by any of the Sailor Senshi at the time as it seems as though that she is from the far far future even further then Crystal Tokyo.

As mentioned by Kakyuu in the manga the legendary senshi is NQS/Sailor Moon.

In the anime 90, Galaxia / Chaos, also says it in the 199: speaking of Star Seed (Sailor Moon), that its fabulous light is unique in the world, and has no equal in the galaxy.

So basically: Sailor Moon far surpasses Sailor Galaxia in terms of strength. Since we had to wait until the 200 for Sailor Moon to use the power of the silver crystal.

Moreover in original version, they say "legend" (for Galaxia), not "legendary".

In her princess form, not her senshi form.

I'll take Galaxia being an ancient Sailor Senshi who once saved the world in the 90's anime over her being someone who was jealous of how awesome and strong Usagi is in the manga. The latter felt like a watered down version of anime!Nehelenia.
That is why I think Galaxia's original planned backstory in the Materials collection is better than what we actually got in the manga(wherein she is just a mix of Hotaru and Anime Neherenia).

I'm not saying her redemption is bad, it's that she should have been beaten down to let the audience feel relieved, and atone for her doing.

Nehellenia's redemption didn't come with enough setup, however the scene was handled fine and plus she didn't kill any of the popular characters.

I didn't find Nehellenia's redemption to be an asspull mostly because both flashbacks show that the magic mirror was clearly affecting her sanity.

I don't really either but for people who keep whining about redemptions here I find Nehellenia more unsympathetic then Sailor Galaxia. Also I would argue that comparison with Hotaru and Mistress 9 along with Queen Nehellenia and Sailor Galaxia's redemption are completely different.

Hotaru had Mistress 9 put inside her and Professor Tomoe was possessed by Germatoid because Professor Tomoe made a Faustian bargain to save his daughter after the incident at the lab with the Tau Aliens. Likewise even though Queen Nehellenia was seemingly warped by the mirror none the less she did make the choice that she did. Where as Sailor Galaxia willingly and not as result of another forcing her too or for evil purposes but in the sovereignty of her own will took Chaos inside of her body to prevent the Sailor Wars.

However I have said before I would have liked for the 90s anime to have expanded on who was that evil entity in Queen Nehellenia's Mirror. They could have potentially made a really cool 90s anime villain maybe more inspired by manga Nehellenia with her.

Nehellenia seemed to be lonely and sympathetic in the beginning, but her backstory REALLY shocked ppl because she's CRAZY!

But overall she didn't cause much harm to the senshi and our other beloved characters. So her whitewash didn't shock as much as Galaxia, plus her crime was undone.

It would have been much better if her backstory was rewritten. I have tried.

Expand Nehellnia's anime character

Galaxia's problem is not about should she be redeemed, but she killed nearly all the senshi and her underlings without a hard beat down to let the audience feel relieved, nor was Chaos a character in the anime.

Sailor Galaxia also in the end undoes her crimes by returning the Star Seeds/Sailor Crystals of the peoples of the planets she conquered and making things right so she also attoned in the end. However the difference is Nehellenia while sympathetic and insecure made a willing choice to consume the people of her planet's dream mirrors. Sailor Galaxia didn't. Also they were foreshadowing the Legendary Sailor Soldier who defeated Chaos and it was meant to be a twist in the end that this Sailor Senshi was Sailor Galaxia so I really don't know why fans are whining that there " was no evidence of her being this Sailor Soldier" because it was meant to be a twist and a shock and done honestly better then the covering up of the Moon Princess's identity in the first season.

Also again Sailor Galaxia wasn't responsible for her actions. It was Chaos warping her so she dosen't deserve a "hard beatdown." That is just silly. Likewise Chaos was very much a character in the 90s anime. Sailor Galaxia sealed Chaos away inside of her and when Sailor Galaxia's Golden Bracelets broke that was Chaos that took her over and from that point on until Chaos was exorcised from Sailor Galaxia that was Chaos battling Sailor Moon. That is why that form was even called Chaos Galaxia.

Again I think it is ridiculous how people think that Sailor Galaxia deserves a "beat down" when it wasn't her fault.

None the less the Hotaru/Mistress 9 and the Queen Nehellenia comparisons are completely off bases. Literally the only thing they have in common was that Hotaru, Nehellenia and Sailor Galaxia were redeemed that is it. Hotaru had no choice in the matter but due to her Father's pact with Germatoid was forced to contain Mistress 9 inside her with no say so on her own. Likewise with Nehellenia while she was insecure and sympatetic and probably has much more to her backstory then we know she still willingly did what she did. Likewise with Sailor Galaxia she willingly without force took Chaos inside her to end the Sailor Wars and Chaos's destruction. She thought she could contain Chaos but Chaos eventually began to take her over manipulating and warping her mind until she took complete control over Sailor Galaxia in the last episode of Sailor Stars and Sailor Moon exorcised Chaos. However the circumstances and reasons why they were redeemed are completely different. Honestly I would say that Hotaru and Sailor Galaxia have more similarities in that they were possessed by an outside force but the reasons behind why were totally different and likewise I would say that Queen Nehellenia is more akin to Queen Beryl in aspects atleast of their backstory.

But the way it was presented was not relieved enough. She didn't make any sacrifice.

Nehellenia's ppl were nobody and they were only introduced in that scene. The senshi were all around there and loved by the audience.

After killing them with such cruelty, the audience all wanted to see Galaxia suffer a bad defeat, or atone for her crime with some heavy price. Even Nehelllenia was defeated and turned into old woman in the end of SS.

I'm not saying was Galaxia innocent or not, but the way the whole thing was presented was awful. We don't care about who defeated Chaos, we need Chaos' influence to be shown in the process to let ppl blame him not Galaxia if you don't plan to make Galaxia the one to take responsibility.
