Actually they do if it's a cash cow franchise. They've already made so many adaptations of Transformers. Unlike the Jem movie they disastrously made which I'm sure they're not ever gonna make another one. 
And there was that game called "Them's Fightin' Herds" that was supposed to be a My Little Pony Fighting game. Hasbro didn't want none of that but with the author's (Lauren Faust) blessing whom in fact help with character designs gave it's approval.

Someone had this amazing idea to promote Youtubers with the film along with putting the main rival Misfits at the end of the film
Have to admit the main actress makes a pretty good Jem. But the terrible writing is just terrible.
Another sad thing was the fact the album for the 80's Jem soundtrack was supposed to be platinum.
There's some great music in Jem. There's some bad (Give Me A Gimmick
)and mediocre ones too but some of the best actually came from the Misfits like 'I Am A Giant Woman', 'Top Of The Charts', 'We're Off And Running' and 'Universal Appeal'. It would've been great as a campy cheesy modern day musical but it wouldn't matter since the writing was so bad.
