This is the first piece of new Sailor Moon merchandise to be available in the U.S.! This is a very good sign. The more product we get like this, the better chance we have for a full blown revival going beyond just the manga.

I realize my opinion won't be too popular. But all of this new artwork for the Italian revival looks a bit generic. I'm not saying it's not ugly, it's just nothing special.

I wish they'd release more gender-neutral Sailor Moon stuff. Like, maybe a black T-Shirt with the just the Japanese logo of Classic on it done in a gender-neutral color scheme.

You see, it's things like this that make me wish for a more 'neutral' approach in general. We've all seen how different you can make "S.M" look by marketing it in different ways (the Toonami ads/intros, for example).

Kind of like what you said, it's gender stereotypes. If something's 'girly' chances are, it'll put off a large portion of a potential male audience. But if the... product in question is shown in either a 'neutral' or even 'boy friendly' way, it's more open to a larger audience. Girls, generally, won't mind it and boys will be more open to liking it. I'm not saying this is right, but it's the way things are.

But this is why I'm not keen on the new international logo, or the bright pink cover for the first volume of the manga re-prints. I just think that if 'they' want "S.M" to be a success this time around, they should be trying to cover all bases with potential audiences. Although the show may have originally been aimed at a young, predominantly female audience, over the years the fanbase has grown and is mixed, both age wise and gender wise. And there is plenty that can appeal to boys in "Sailor Moon." For all the cutesy elements, the unicorn, the pink and sparkly stuff, you have the darker moments (on screen character deaths, plenty of action, occasionally creepy looking monsters, a main cast of girls in ultra-short mini-skirts...). It's actually a fairly balanced show, if you look past the exterior.

Anywho, prices range from about $22 to $26.50 for the 3X size.

That's a bit much for me to invest in at this time. If it was $15, then maybe I'd order one to adorn my wall since I'm not much of a T-shirt person.

How does this domain (how do they know who links to what?) get back in their good graces? Is it not that important?

Anyway, about the shirt design:
Get on the webpage
Find with AdBlockPlus in Firefox the larger image and save it.
Load up in PsPro
Use Mesh Warp tool to fix the circle in the design
Adjust contrast to remove background fabric stuff
Enlarge, mirror, print out on Iron On Transfer paper.

Voila.

I was so excited when I saw this news on ANN. But then I became very disappointed. The max size, according to Hot Topic, would be equivalent to a 17-19 in women's. I wear a 22...EXTREME disappointment! Which is odd, 'cause I have two older SM shirts from several years ago, back when I only wore a large in juniors, and they still fit fine. (I notice that a lot of stuff from back then still fits me...it's like the sizes were made larger or something compared to today's clothes...) But I'm guessing this one wouldn't...I'm afraid to order it because it might not fit, especially being 100% cotton and all too. I noticed other people on the ANN forum complaining about how it's only in junior sizes as well. This sucks...you think HT would realize that a good chunk of the people who love SM are adults, and a good chunk of those probably have ...umm..."adult" bodies (damn you boobs!). le sigh...
I can only hope some company will bring out larger shirts soon!
