Well, that's just plain wrong. A straight up lie to the readers.

Yeah, while I do hope "Moon Wand" gets used in the Eternal Edition (because it reads so much better in English than 'Moon Stick'), that's definitely not something that should be used in a bilingual release aimed at helping Japanese readers learn English. Oh well. At least we won't have to deal with Motoki being called "bro"

I always thought the goofiness of "Moon Stick" kind of suited Usagi wielding it, though. If it hadn't been it's name in the days of Silver Millennium days, then I could easily imagine Usagi naming it that herself.

Whatever the case, I always think it's silly to change english names to different english names in a translation. Even for fanfiction, I try to stick with every english name that was used- even the horribly awkward name "Black Lady". I feel like replacing an english term for a translation into english is like second-guessing the creative intent and getting into creative rewriting, which is the kind of problem the DiC dub was overflowing with.

- "Four Kings of Heaven" is now "Four Heavenly Kings". Not a big change.

- When using the disguise pen for the first time, Luna tells Usagi to shout "Change" rather then "Transform!"

- Instances of finding "allies" tends to be referred to as "fellow guardians" except for Tuxedo Mark so the conversation with Luna goes like this:

"And you're...the enemy? An ally?"
"Are you...with us? Or against us?"

"...Who...can tell? Sine we're both after the same thing...that may mean that I could be your enemy."
"Good question. I don't know. We're after the same thing. So maybe I'm against you?"

Much better as the use of "allies" always felt clunky in the 2011 edition.

- The infamous nervously line.

"You know, you should live you life a bit more nervously."
"You know, you could stand to have a greater sense of urgency in you life, Usagi-chan."

- My favourite line from Makoto.

"I'll let you know about a women's pure feelings with raw strength!"
"I'll show you what a girl's pure heart can do-by busting it into your brain!!"
