Why is english language used so much in Sailor Moon (I mean japanese version of course)? Most of the proper names are in english (e.g. Princess/Queen Serenity, King Endymion, Sailor *, Silver Milenium, Crystal Tokyo, Crystal Point, Black Moon, all attack names).
Moreover, they constantly uses english expressions for some regular things: "energy", "message", "lucky", "love letter", "wedding dress", "promise ring", "okay", "bye-bye", etc.
Why don't they use japanese terms for all of these?

And also all these english insertions in the songs: "blah-blah-blah Moonlight, blah-blah-blah Midnight", "Miraculu Romancu", "la-la-la never give up", "Sailor Wing", "Sailor Yell".

Korean and Chinese singers, too, use English while singing.

I think they feel that borrowing neologisms or full sentences from other languages is "cool."

The series borrows words/phrases from other languages, such as French and Portuguese, as well. Foreign words are commonly peppered into Asian (i.e. Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc) texts because they sound "cool."

It always confused me in the S movie how they use "Silver Crystal Power" in English, when the term "ginzishou" is used mere seconds earlier.

The "calice" in Holy Moon Calice comes from Portuguese.

I heard somewhere that it's considered "hip" or cool to say or use English words in Japanese anime. Many anime like to use "ok" or "Yo!" (as in hey or what's up).

It could be either. Cognate: Chalice (English) or Cálice (Portuguese).

On a different note, the main song of one of my favorite animes, Blood-C, blends Japanese with English and French.

There is one more thing I wonder about: why are some english words written with latin script and others with katakana? E.g. "moonlight/midnight" and then suddenly "ミラクル ロマンク" instead of "miracle romance".

Basically as other people said they use foreign words because they think they sound cool.

That's also long been a tradition in anime & tokusatsu alike, which can date back to their very 1st ones many decades ago. :)

Not unlike what we do in America. Especially with common spanish words and phrases.
