Excllent article for making Makoto's bentou, for those who are so inclined. It was thanks to Sailor Moon's episode about making curry that I discovered Japanese curry.

I mightn't say it's the curry I like most, but it's definitely got a unique taste which I like. :)

The presentation is top notch :), I would just be a little bit unsure of how it would taste as I've shamefully never tried Japanese cuisine lol

I'd say it tastes as good as it looks, like many Japanese cuisines. :)

All curries have their own beautiful uniqueness, yep. Hard to go wrong with that many spices.

Well, some of the foods are common in the west. Rice, hot dog, croquettes (fried potato patties), tomatoes, spaghetti... even if you didn't care for the rest, you could probably find something you liked. :)

They somewhat contain both Japanese and Western, but Japanese cuisine mostly contains sour food with a bit of sweet one, so the former would be pretty present in a dish. Or not.

Cool! I always thought that Makoto's bentou looked yummy and I would love to try the sweet rice as well as the quail eggs like the little chicks. It looks really delicious and definitely something to try. Plus I have never had quail eggs so I wonder what they will be like?

Not sure how to describe what their taste is like, but they're certainly delicious to me, & I also like their small, one-bite size. :)

Sure (well, they're also birds' eggs afterall lol ), but not exactly so - I just dunno how to describe it, especially in English, which isn't my mother tongue. ^_^'

Chinese. :) You could try the quail eggs via a dim sum containing them at Chinese restaurants in a China town, I guess?

Oh that is cool Rika I didn't know you were Chinese. Unfortunately there is no China town even remotely close to the town I live in however I hope to be moving to a bigger city soon so maybe then I will have better luck.

Have you ever had a curry or vindaloo as spicy as David Lister from Red Dwarf likes? :P P-:

You do know that lager can kill a vindaloo, right? :P
