This activity thing seems interesting and I'm scouring for info about it. Anything you guys know? And I wonder if there's a ripped version of the game like a ROM to download somewhere on the web because of its rarity...

I dont' think this game is that "horrendous". I think it is, lets say, strange :cthulhu:
Now, it's almost impossible to make this thing to work ptoperly on any current OS (I'm on Win 8 ). Even with compatibility mode you can get something like this...

I actually really enjoyed it when I was a kid. I thought it was very pretty and a lot of fun. Sure some of the art was really inaccurate but I thought it was entertaining and had beautiful music. I will say this I thought it was interesting to see the Senshi use their Sailor Teleport to go to the play area's planet. It always made me wonder what that planet was. In my headcanon it is Vulcan from the Sera Myu and the Moon in the night sky is Astarte.

Hmmm. If I could ever find a copy of it, I'd give it a go. I've still got a computer running Win 95 in storage, and if that's too "modern", Win 3.1. :P

Well there are Lets Plays of it and the intro is bopping (especially with Tuxedo Mask lurking behind the bushes)

Thanks. You either did us all a nostalgic favor, or unleashed the forces of darkness upon us. ;3 Either way, I'm interested to try it out sometime... Have you tested it to see if it works too?

BTW my PC runs on Windows 8.1, so I'm not quite sure if I'll get compatibility mode problems like DooM did. Maybe I can look into running it on a Virtual Win95 OS if that's able to help.

Thanks....I sort of wanted sleep tonight but ok I guess.

Physical copies exist but from what I saw last year go for disgusting prices.

I can confirm that it doesn't work normal when loaded on Windows 8.1 - it plays the 3VR logo sequence, then it goes to a screen where the intro "cutscene" border is upside down and bluified, while the footage itself plays outside at the bottom of the screen. When a key is pressed, or when the intro finishes, the hub music and initial announcer sounds play while the screen just stops.

And that's it.

I'm gonna see if I can find out how to work it on my own, or get a Virtual Machine of a compatible version of Windows to do it somehow.

Its a bit tricky to make it work on 8.1. You can try this.
Set the game colors to 16 bits, force 640x480 resolution, and for compatibility, if you set it to Windows 98, you can play the 2D "games" and videos just fine but the 3D games will be corrupted. If you set windows XP (Service Pack 2), the 3D games will work full color, but some videos, screens and 2D games will be missing/corrupted. Thats all i could get... :(
Please tell us if you find a way to run this better, since i'd like to play this game on all its 3D glory!

I'm no absolute tech genius, but don't bring your hopes down - I'll keep trying combinations to see what's best.

According to a YouTuber running it on Windows 7 it took lots of trial and error, so I'm kinda prepared - the results I got were from trying it in 256 color mode without resolution forcing and compatibility of 95 and XP (Packs 2 and 3).

And FYI: my PC is able to run Touhou 5: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil without modification and works like a dream. I've also played tons of SNES, Genesis and PS1 ROM files as well.

The only way to get this to run 100% correctly is probably through a virtual PC. You can download a virtual PC like VirtualBox for free, and then look for an older operating system like XP, 2000, or 98 to download and run on it. The operating system might not be free though, depending on what it is and where you're looking.

Or it's likely that one should burn it onto a CD somehow for it to run properly.

After lots of trial and error, I finally managed to make this darn thing to work properly!
I did it via a virtual machine (BIG Thanks Fokkusu for the idea! ) and installing Windows XP on it. Looks like the game works fine now (Except no opening for some reason but other videos play) I'll do more tests later.

HOLY COW! What settings did you end up using for that?

All this makes me want to try out a virtual machine... what's it like? How much does it take up on your PC?

I wonder if it would work under Wine using winetricks to fake the resolution and color depth?

It's like an emulator. I've used VMWare (i tried VirtualBox but i couldn't get the sound to work properly) with default settings, i've installed Windows XP (i used it because older OS are a bit tricky to install) on it without any issue. :D

Cool! I should try that out sometime. :) My main concern is how much RAM and disk space everything manages to take up, but I can see...

Thanks Fokkusu for the idea for the Virtual PC I beat it many times when I was younger but I always desired to play it again so I will look into this Virtual PC stuff.

Glad my nerdiness helped, guys. :)

Lunatastic: Not much space as far as I can tell. VirtualBox, which is what I use, is 75 mb. The operating system can vary in size depending on what you get. Since they're older systems though, they won't take up as much space. I have a 918 GB drive and only half of it's being used right now - most of it's stuff like videos, music, games, and my personal art files.

Sailor DooM: Sort of like an emulator. Virtual PCs are a bit more versatile because you just need the one program and then load up a bunch of operating systems on it. Each emulator can mimic one system only, as far as I know.

MariaTenebre: No prob! It's pretty easy to do. The hardest part is figuring out which operating system you need and then tracking it down. I have Windows XP because it's what I played computer games from the 90's and early 2000's on. I've got Riven, Magic School Bus: Lost in Space, Eyewitness: Dinosaur Hunter, Undersea Adventure, and Dinosaur Adventure from when I was a kid.

Thanks for the information Fokkusu I have Windows 10 so what do you think I should use. I would also say I also loved the Magic School Bus games. My favorites were the Lost in Space game and the one where you go around the world and see different animals.

It doesn't matter as much what operating system you use, as long as the virtual PC you download is compatible with it. The operating system you download for the virtual PC depends on the game(s) you're trying to play. I use Windows XP, which Magic School Bus runs just fine on. Apparently the Sailor Moon 3D Adventures game works on it too.

The only way to get this to run 100% correctly is probably through a virtual PC.

Well the only way to play 3D Adventures completely as intended would be to run it on actual contemporary (mid to late 1990's) PC hardware.

Physical copies exist but from what I saw last year go for disgusting prices.

You can still find boxed copies pretty cheap if you're willing to wait some time for it. I can also recommend checking stores on Amazon for new old stock copies of the game.

Sounds like the main problem here is that people have a 64-bit Windows OS running. All 32-bit versions of Windows are on the other hand backwards compatible with 16-bit programs. Even the 32-bit version of Windows 10 should run this with no problem aside from some minor speed issues. If you still really want to try this out then I'd recommend that you make a search on how to set up a virtual machine, and then install Windows 95 on that.
